  1. Jeeeez, Šerkšnienė really died on that last 50
  2. I was really worried there for Bertašius, can't remember when he risked running a 1500m this slow.
  3. Weird schedule, there's going to be a half an hour of nothing :/
  4. Don't make fun of her, at least she's out there, trying to do something. We don't need to be rushing her. She has enough pressure on her shoulders right now.
  5. I don't think they're correct, because it's impossible that Vasiliauskas threw 77 metres
  6. Yes, of course it's even more attention for the runners
  7. Really happy for Modesta Justė Morauskaitė, but if she started running 400m. Hurdles a little bit earlier, she would be going to the Olympics right now, but wasted too much time on 400m selection and now she won't get another 3 starts in the hurdles, to even be in contention.
  8. @stefanbg please, you're closest to the scene, drive to the stadium and sort this out
  9. It wouldn't be the 2nd league if everything worked fine
  10. Live results don't seem to be working at all for me at the moment. The livestream is okay though.
  11. We're sending a fairly strong line-up as well, it's just that we're held back by injuries in some areas. 110m. Hurdles/ 400m. Hurdles for men, 400m for men are really not looking good. Palšytė is completely out of form, 1.90 is possible, she jumped it this season, buuuuut I wouldn't bet on it. We got stronger in some places, got weaker in others.
  12. Wait, guys, that's not how it's supposed to work, we need to battle for the first place in the group, not the last one. Who is going to oppose our Hungarian overlords?
  13. Our only female pole vaulter that can vault at least a modest 3.40 got injured doing heptathlon, so we're starting this competition with 0 points, because we didn't send anyone Also, can't wait to see Palšytė struggle at 1.85 again.
  14. I'm really looking forward to this and there are so many opportunities for banter with such good company as @dcro for Croatia, @Agger and @Wumo for Denmark, @hckošice for Slovakia, @Vektor for Hungary, @justony for Slovenia, @stefanbg for Bulgaria. It's a shame that @OlympicIRL is stuck in his fancy 1st league
  15. Athletics EAA Team European Championships Second League 2021 Stara Zagora (BUL) - 19 June 2021 - 20 June 2021 Official Website Programme Results System Results Database Facebook Page Discussion Thread
  16. Mykolas Alekna threw a 1.75kg discus in Vilnius yesterday with a mark of 67.71. He broke the Lithuanian 18yo and 19yo records in the discus and he took the EL and WL in U20 Discus Throw.
  17. LITHUANIAN NATIONAL RECORD ALERT This season is crazy, because it's only June and it's the third Lithuanian national record to be broken now. Gediminas Truskauskas just ran a 20.48s in 200m during a competition held in Austria. He smashed his 20.75 PB right after already running a 100m race twice today. He also broke his PB there as well, where he became the fourth fastest man in Lithuania (10.33). The previous record holder was Rytis Sakalauskas with 20.74 set back in 2011. He is still the record holder for 100m. in Lithuania, but it is looking likely that Gediminas might even attempt to take down that record if he continues to improve. Edit: To add on to that, I just found out that it is the 2nd best 200m. run from a European this season. PS: I'll also add that two days ago, Adrijus Glebauskas jumped 2.30 and became the third best high jumper of all time in Lithuania. The NR is 2.34.
  18. LITHUANIAN NATIONAL RECORD ALERT This is the second Lithuanian national record to be broken this year. This time it was Simas Bertašius in his very first 1500m race of the season in the Continental cup that was held today in Greece. He bettered his own record and it now stands at 3:37.82. His biggest achievement thus far is finishing 6th in the 2018 European Championships. This result also got him his second best Olympic qualification result with 1196 points and in the updated rankings he will be in the top 50 that make it to Tokyo. He also plans to start four more times: the continental cup in Czech Republic, the team athletics championships 2nd division, the Lithuanian Championships and COSMA Cup.
  19. LLAF cup has started in Lithuania today and it ends tomorrow. Difficult conditions and high winds lead to some questionable results, it was especially tough for the discus throwers, high jumpers and long jumpers. Notable results from day 1 were: Andrius Gudžius easily took 1st place, this time with a more modest throw of 66.23 Airinė Palšytė in her first competition after a year (which she called a training routine) jumped over 1.90 and stopped her performance, because it was too cold. Rapolas Saulius posted a 3rd best ever Lithuanian result in 110m. Hurdles with a time of 13.77 Lastly, Zinaida Sendriūtė seems to finally be looking stronger after coming back from her hiatus, she threw 59.30 in the discus today and she said in an interview that she hasn't given up on Tokyo just yet.
  20. I'm pretty happy with the results this year, this is my top 10 of last night's show. Sidenote: Destiny is so absolutely fake, laughing and "having a blast" on stage then sitting in the green room like someone died, because she didn't get all of the 12 points to herself from the jury. GOOOOOOSSSSSH was it extremely painful to watch. Glad the public saw through that.
  21. Is it actually? Juries should be professional and not give points for any other reason than good music. Italy and France in 1st and 2nd should be an example for Germany, UK and Spain trying to skate through with what was mostly shit performances for years. They can also look at the qualification system, perhaps they would get more love from Eurofans if they were not afraid of trying their luck out in the semi-finals. If they felt what it's like to fight for qualification, maybe they would try harder for their finals.
  22. It's not like you tend to get more than 20 points if you're a country that won last year anyways. It's a pretty solid tune though .
  23. Yesterday in Birštonas, Andrius Gudžius took the WL with a 68.62 in the discus. Same competition, Indrė Jakubaitytė improved on her W45 Javelin World Record that she achieved a week ago, it's now 54.56.
  24. Danas Rapšys is unhappy with his performance here, but is very glad that he could use the European Championships as a rehearsal and that gives the opportunity for him and his coach to analyse what went wrong and fix these details so that he would be ready for OG.
  25. Time to throw some shade and some praise: - Easily the best performance of the night, superb songwriting and atmosphere, stage presence is brilliant as well, you can feel their years of stage experience through the screen. - One of the small amount of performances where it seemed that nothing went wrong, not the biggest fan of the song, but the staging is really well done, vocals on point and they didn't give me a reason to doubt them. - One of the best songwriting in this year's competition, but there's still a lot of work to be done before the final, vocals slightly off, whistle notes were a huge gamble and they didn't pay-off yesterday. Hitting them is cool, but if the notes slip away from you, then it's pointless. - The staging feels thought out, but some of the camera angles could be a little bit better planned, not many places where you can slip up vocally, because it's not a very technical song. I don't think it's a winner, because when the drop hits, it just doesn't have the magic of 2020 both musically and choreographically. Also, agreed with @dcro, it's not aging well, I've been exposed to this song far too much. - Low ceiling, high floor type of performance. Nothing went wrong, the singing is on point, but the whole thing just has filler vibes, but in this very weak edition of Eurovision, this is still one of the better things out there. - Really good vocals, but a really annoying song. I'm done with "men are stupid idiots" type of lyrics and the fact that it is celebrated in today's culture. No, you're not too good to be true, Destiny, you're just a person. Also, it seems like she avoided some of notes she was trying to hit for the jury show. Perhaps she's saving it for the final or she thought it was too high of a risk. - I don't think that I like this song, but the energy and charisma of Manizha really lifts this up. - Can't really separate these three. The three tits and asses out performances of the night. Cyprus with the best staging, Azerbaijan with the best vocals, Croatia with the best songwriting, all three with lyrics that aren't in any way meaningful or captivating. - One of the best songs from semifinal 1, but the performer couldn't handle moving around on the stage and there were a lot of issues leading up to the performance for her, so she went in with zero confidence and you could feel it. - Ireland tried to go for a cool stage aesthetic, but I don't know if it worked for me. I guess she tried to make the performance cute. If she did a better job with vocals, could have been a qualifier for me. - Very bland song, the performer is pretty pitchy throughout, this only qualified because it's Sweden. - Doomed by not being there, vocals really on point, but the song really gets lost amongst the others, because it lacks the special factor to make it stand out. Also, I always thought she was trying to make me strip, but the lyrics are actually 'time to take off your cloaks' and not clothes. - Disney could use this for their Tarzan remake, when they eventually decide to make one. - Sadly one of those songs where you have to look at the list of participants to remember that she was even there. Also, my producer said that you can sing Adele's "Hello" on top of it, so there's that. But in Slovenia's defence, you can sing a lot of pop songs on the Cyprus entry, ranging from Lady Gaga to Rita Ora.
