  1. Looks like you are right, that also fits with getting the men's quota. So not only did FIG get the tripartite reallocation wrong, they also got the wrong round for the host reallocation. While it makes more sense to use the final/semi-final results, that's not what is written in the document...
  2. Can you explain Canada's women's quota? If we go by the World Series ranking then it should go to Belarus and if we use the 2019 World Championships results then it should go to Germany...
  3. I am very confused on how and got the quotas, using either the 2019 World Champs or 2021 World Series neither quota have gotten the quota
  4. China and the United States are pretty much locks for medals, I guess she has a chance for bronze, but it won't be easy
  5. To be fair, FINA also had Sweden taking the continental quota
  6. You are probably right, similar things were said for Central American nations when baseball was added
  7. I'd reduce the North American and the Oceania (or African) down to 1 and allow the 2 highest ranked unqualified teams from the World Series to compete.
  8. Hopefully for the next games, they change the qualifiers, missing both Ireland and Spain is a shame.
  9. One of the reasons for rugby seven's inclusion was for more inclusion of Oceania nations. One day will qualify to the games...
  10. The Oceania quota has been awarded to in the men and in the women (based on the 2018 Oceania Championships) according to World Archery so only 7 men and 2-5 women quotas will be contested/
  11. No Oceania nation is competing in the women's 10km so the quota will be reallocated to the next highest ranked eligible athlete (same thing may apply for the men if Australia finishes in the top 9).
  12. Correct... "There must be a real competition meaning that if there are less member associations competing that there are places allocated the qualification status will be lost. To be explicit if there are less than five for the European Olympic Qualifier, less than four for the Pan-American Olympic Qualifier, less than two for the Oceania Olympic Qualifier. This criteria will overrule the calculated number below. " "In case the validity criteria cannot be met, then the result of the last held Continental Championships will be used. If these results are not allowing to fill in the places, they will be added to the individual places of the FQT." The last Oceania championship was in 2018 so the men's quota would go to Fiji and the women's quota would go to Australia. Of course, World Archery completely ignored its qualification rule when it denied Mongolia, the mixed team quota that North Korea released so I have no idea what they are going to do. Additionally, New Zealand just denied its men's quota and it should have gone to Fiji, but they have also confirmed it will go to the FIQT (so 4 men and 2 women quotas are currently available plus whatever extra comes from the team events).
  13. Sadly, a bunch of them disagree with your opinion.
  14. They really need to start giving ranking points in tennis again. Ideally, it should be a 1000 level tournament, but even a 500 level would probably stop the majority of withdrawals.
  15. At this rate, it's probably more like congrats Czech Republic
  16. Yeah, it's terrible that not only do you have to compete within your own event you have to compete against athletes in other events in order to qualify. We have a similar issue (though a lot smaller) in the kayak events in canoe sprint.
  17. Not sure, at the Polish Open Polanska and Kossakowska are listed as qualifying for the relays. Maybe one of them got injured? Poland also doesn't have a lot of individual qualifiers and since "relay only" athletes must have reached the OST in the event, maybe Poland was unable to make a proper team. Like they may have to use Laura Bernat as one of the 4x200m free members...
  18. Looks like Poland withdrew as well, Denmark is the replacement.
  19. They are just waiting for the checks to clear
  20. There are still two empty quotas (both in women's trap)
  21. No they reallocated based on the missing quotas due to the returning of tripartite quotas, events which Japan qualified, continental qualifiers where no one got the MQS and North Korea's withdrawn quotas. It has nothing to do with keeping it gender balanced. The two extra women's trap quotas were allocated because there are no eligible nations remaining. Should Ireland withdraw in the men's trap, they will be eligible again in the women's trap (since they no longer have a quota) while the men's trap quota will go to Fiji or Luxembourg.
  22. Forgot that it has to be the same gender
  23. Ireland could also exchange the quota for another event
  24. Everyone talks big until it's time for them to show up. If we do manage to qualify I imagine a couple more will have a change of heart and thus bump out those that actually did the qualifying.
