  1. No, unless 3 nations decline quotas
  2. Forgot about the continental requirements. I think Germany misses out in both genders. Russia (men) and Canada (women) lose their ranking quota to South Africa/Egypt. They then qualify through the individual rankings, pushing out Japan/Germany. Japan will keep its host quota and thus pushes out Germany for the men while Belgium outranks Germany in the women and gets to keep their quota. Of course if by replacing the lowest ranked nation happens at the end then it will be Germany/Belgium
  3. We will likely get crushed by Russia, but at least we weren't embarrassed and missed the quarterfinals.
  4. That is incorrect, the individual rankings are based on the March 3rd 2020 individual rankings. For the men it will go to and for the women it will go to . Aruba lost out by one place. The reallocation of the world champs (and host quota) goes to for men and for women.
  5. They will be reallocated to the rankings (note the individual ranking holds priority)
  6. I won't be adding wild cards for athletics and swimming as they were not decided by the tripartite commission. As for those wild cards, they are not reliable as technically a different athlete from that continent could score a higher world ranking in a different event and take the quota.
  7. Not off the top of my head... Usually if you are good enough to medal, you are good enough to qualify normally. The most likely sport for this to happen would be taekwondo (and karate if it ever returns) due to the low number of overall quotas.
  8. So much for that "max 2 per event" rule they made
  9. I'm okay with a universality qualification tournament, but only if it was something like a 16-team tournament.
  10. No, to prevent 5x5 players from just showing up and overrunning the regular competitors, FIBA made a rule stating athletes must compete in a minimum number of events.
  11. Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions quota for
  12. Wikipedia has been quite wrong about the Asian qualifiers (people being a bit too quick with updates before knowing all the information). I also confirmed the Hong Kong quota, but there's no word of them saying they declined the LM2x. I mean it could be true, but it could also be that Indonesia selected the LM2x over the LW2x (earlier reports say they won the LW2x, but that was before they had access to the men's quota) and South Korea will compete in the LW2x.
  13. Do we actually know Hong Kong declined the LM2x quota or did Indonesia select LM2x when they found out they had the option? Any word on which boat South Korea will compete in, if it's the LW2x then we know what happened.
  14. Meets still ongoing until May 31st South Africa Grand Prix No. 4 ( Durban) Selectivo Juegos Olimpicos Tokyo 2020 ( Lima) Grand Prix Internacional SYC ( Asuncion) Alberta HP Test Event ( Calgary) Campeonato Nacional por Categorias 2021 ( Caracas) Division 1 LC Competition Part 2 ( Hong Kong) Chinese National Summer Championships - 50m ( Xian) (Only the first day so I don't know if any relays will be held) Lithuanian National Championships - 50m ( Klaipeda) Turkcell Turkish Youth Junior and Open Winter Nationals ( Edirne) Grand Prix Burgas ( Burgas) Prague 2021 ( Prague) Akropolis Swimming Grand Prix ( Athens) 13th ISM Banja Luka Open ( Banja Luka) Ekipno Prvenstvo Hrvatske ( Zagreb) 38th Meeting International de Natation de Monte Carlo 2021 ( Monaco) Hamilton Qualification Meet ( Hamilton)
  15. Correct, the qualification period for the relay events end on May 31st.
  16. Currently the only tripartite eligible athlete which has met the minimum criteria is Flora Duffy and she'll qualify normally. Likewise currently no men have reached the minimum criteria so unless someone steps up there won't be any tripartite quotas in triathlon. Edit: Here is the minimum criteria Being among the top 180 in the ITU World Ranking for the qualification places of ITU World Ranking and Tripartite Commission Invitation.
  17. Here are the tripartite eligible nations in the top 500 (must participate in at least 3 tournaments), I imagine BWF won't go any lower than that... Men's Singles - 99th - 266th - 300th - 323rd - 332nd - 336th - 430th Women's Singles - 121st - 221st - 229th - 293rd - 353rd - 359th (higher ranked athletes only participate in 2 tournaments)
  18. Yeah, I don't fault federations being forced to change their qualification method because of COVID. Weightlifting is my choice. Any qualification method where it is impossible for an athlete to qualify to an event due to other athletes qualifying in a different event is bad. Canoe sprint also has the same issue in kayak events. At least in taekwondo you could theoretically qualify in all events via the world rankings.
  19. To be fair, that rule was originally in place so everyone knew before hand. It was still unfair to make it. If they really didn't want Jamaica/Mexico then they should have made the continental qualifiers have higher priority than the World Series.
  20. At this point I highly suspect the user is actually a bot based on their reply to other users
  21. That seems promising, of course having a bunch of good individuals won't be enough if they can't play as a team.
  22. It will go to Zoya Kravchenko, the highest ranked athlete from a nation not yet qualified in the event.
  23. In general, New Zealand athletes must demonstrate they are capable of finishing in the top 16 with the potential at finishing in the top 8
  24. The rules aren't always very clear (other than it must be a tripartite eligible nation). In 2016 they gave Angola a quota in the laser despite already having one in men's 470. Bolivia also got two shooting tripartite quotas in 2016.
