  1. They could give it to no one and have it reallocated, I think it would go to Maria Kharenkova
  2. Considering there are 20 quotas and 14 events, no doubt that there will be some events with two quotas (some might event have 3 or 4).
  3. FIG has posted the qualifiers on their website.
  4. Looks like UIPM will reveal the quotas on Wednesday.
  5. All that remains is artistic gymnastics and judo.
  6. Netherlands declined the Men's Laser quota so it went to Switzerland who also declined it so it then went to Belgium. All other quotas have been accepted by their respective nations so barring any late injuries things should be finalized.
  7. The quota limit hurts mid-small size nations anyway. Based on the athlete attendance in the 80s and 90s we should have around 11,500-12,000 athletes with the increased amount of events.
  8. English Wikipedia can't count, there are 29 check marks on the summary table.
  9. Not sure, usually they are one of the earliest to reveal, but since you asked, the quotas were awarded to Sawadogo Passamwindin Faysal (M -80kg) Farzad Mansouri (M +80kg) Naomie Katoka Kasumpata (W -67kg) Keila Avila (W +67kg) Source
  10. With 20 tripartite quotas for judo, here is a list of nations which don't have a quota by points of their highest ranked athlete. 1. Danilo Pantic (1081 points) 2. Indrit Cullhaj (679 points) 3. Yann Siccardi (667 points) 4. Essohanam Koro (615 points) 5. Signoline Kanyamuneza (356 points) 6. Omar Aldhufairi (290 points) 7. Mohamad Akkash (253 points) 8. Jason Zacko Ngawili (252 points) 9. Raphael Schwendinger (246 points) 10. Gavin Mogopa (240 points) 11. Abdul Fazli (223 points) 12. Abdrahamane Camara (218 points) 13. Dominic Dugasse (195 points) 14. Ahmed Allami (166 points) 15. Mamadou Bah (140 points) 15. Jeremy Saywell (140 points) 17. Ahmed Ayash (137 points) 18. Auguste Daga (131 points) 19. Soniya Bhatta (118 points) 20. Anangisye Pwele (112 points) 21. Paolo Persoglia (56 points) 22. Iniki Uera (51 points) 23. Mar Arnau Reig (46 points) 24. Darren Elcock (34 points) 25. Chamara Repiyallage (33 points) 26. Ngawang Namgyel (20 points) 26. Khin Myo Thu (20 points) 28. Edi Sherifovski (16 points) 29. Zizov Abas (13 points) 30. Tahamina Lopa (10 points) 31. Hassani Ibouroi (6 points) 31. Wesam Aby Rmilah (6 points) 31. Ayubu Mugabo (6 points) 31. Christain Bangura (6 points) 31. Mohamed Elmojtaba Ahamad (6 points) 31. Sailosi Ealelei (6 points) 37. Cergia David (3 points) Of course, they could always give it to a nation with quotas or to someone that wasn't even ranked, but this should give you an idea on who the favourites are...
  11. In 2016 there were 23 synchro-only divers. If there's going to be more individuals added it will only be a handful (very likely less than the 9 above missing out)
  12. So the following nations are missing out despite reaching the semi-finals Men's 3m - Men's 10m - Women's 3m - (New Zealand withdrew Oceania quota) Women's 10m - (North Korea withdrew Asian quota)
  13. My mistake, I looked at the prelim results and not the semi
  14. Looks like they gave a quota in men's 3m springboard despite Ireland and Canada finishing ahead (I imagine the athlete will also compete in the synchro diving event which made this possible). What a farce...
  15. Correct, with the exception of the men's 100m where it does not.
  16. Oceania could only fill 3/5 women's CQ quotas so the other two went to the highest ranked eligible athletes not yet qualified.
  17. While I understand the IJF would prefer to wait for the nations to officially decline the quota, do they really need to wait for North Korea to decline its quota?
  18. Possibly a few more golfers may opt out plus countries like New Zealand and Sweden may not accept their quotas due to low ranking
  19. Considering Samoa is already qualified in this event (though with a different athlete) your point is moot. If you are going to try to use emotions, please use the correct athlete you think was wronged.
  20. Bolivia entered too many athletes in 2016 to push them over the threshold. The same thing happened to Congo and now both nations may only end up with athletics and swimming at best.
  21. While we can always dream on what could have been, this isn't a bad group to represent Canada, hopefully they can gel together before the event in a couple of weeks.
  22. And that's the issue with those people they think some pre-op trans person can compete when the IOC has very tough rules before they are even allowed to compete.
  23. It's not that simple Given the hormonal therapy transgender athletes have to go through you could argue that they are at the level (or even below, given some women have higher natural levels of testosterone) of biological women. More research needs to be done, but if trans women had such a supposedly unfair advantage then why haven't we seen a lot more trans athletes over the last two decades since the IOC allowed them to compete?
  24. I think they just went with the highest ranked eligible athlete, no eligible athlete made the men's final
