  1. Third (!) gold medal winning goal for Marie-Philip Poulin. Both Canadian flag bearers won gold.
  2. That was way too close for comfort.
  3. Holdener isn’t going to win this, come on. She can’t win a ski race.
  4. Lol Ledecká is winning this isn’t she?
  5. Lol imagine if Ledecká wins this.
  6. Very, very scary fall for Ben Harrington, who hit his head on the lip, but he is walking away. He got his money's worth from his helmet.
  7. Gu is looking really dominant, but should be a good scrap for silver.
  8. Not starting due to back pains. https://www.ledauphine.com/skichrono/2022/02/17/skicross-alizee-baron-forfait-pour-la-finale-olympique-sport
  9. I think we might as well give the gold medal to Sandra Näslund already.
  10. Lots of lowlights to pick from :P
  11. And that’s the last time we ever see this slope (I always love it on the rare occasions they have Alpine world cups in Asia, the time works out perfectly for me to watch live).
  12. Well that medal chance was nice while it lasted.
  13. IB4 NBC begs the FIS/IOC to keep the combined in because it's going to provide them their best redemption story of these games. Personally I think the combined is more urban, youth and gender equal than the parallel.
  14. Feels like there is some drama that hasn't really been covered by English-language media.
  15. That’s some rotten timing. Hopefully he gets another shot in four years.
  16. This is much more ridiculous than winning three medals in Tokyo.
  17. The men’s short track relay was great because it’s the first event where Canada was the favourite and looked like it the entire way.
  18. Impressive for to win both individual aerials events after what can only be described as a failure in the team event. Qi is a very worthy winner, as was Xu. Still can’t believe Maxim Burov didn’t qualify for the finals. He is by far the best aerialist in the worls.
  19. Incredible piece of trivia: the only sport where every Canadian athlete competing in Beijing 2022 won a medal is… ski jumping. And it's also the only country who's ski jumpers all won a medal. As we all predicted.
  20. So after all the early struggles still ends up at the top of the short track medal table at these games thanks to wins in both 1500m events. Also, not sure if it was pointed out in this thread but all three women's individual event winners from 2018 successfully defended their titles. Truly astonishing. At least Choi and Shulting should be back to try defending it again in 2026 (Fontana apparently wants to retire due to a dispute with her federation).
  21. Pretty sure will end both of 's three event winning streaks at these Olympics.
  22. Def feels like Canada might have a realistic shot at a men's cross country medal in 2026.
