    It's the Gymnastics podcast I posted here during the Olympics (not even kidding) xD They also have a bunch of horror stories about the organization, apparently there have been a lot of issues around athletes (and them) getting food. Especially true for people with dietary restrictions.

    In a big upset, Team Spirit defeated Team Secret 2-1 in the lower bracket finals and PSG.LGD 3-2 in the grand finals of The International 10 to win the biggest prize ever in esports (18 million USD). This is the first win for either Russia or Ukraine since the very first TI.

    Pretty common in North America. 2018 US Olympic trials had only four participants in the women's 5000m and two participants (including a 53 year old) in the men's 10000m.

    After losing to the United States and to Chile, the Canadian fails to qualify for the men's rugby world cup for the first time ever. Hopefully this is the catalyst for everyone who works for Rugby Canada to lose their jobs.

    Rugby Canada is in complete shambles and, frankly, at this point the organization should be burned to the ground and rebuilt. And this failure pales in comparison to the bullshit going on with the women's program.

    And if anything that result is faltering to Mexico. Really happy with Canada's position now. This is looking like a team that has a very real shot of qualifying for the World Cup.

    Apparently the FIS is thinking of having world championships in all non-Olympic years, having A and B races for the downhill at the world cup level (limiting the A race to 24 skiers) and getting rid of both the combined and the Super-G.

    Ya, Alpine Skiing has the strangest "opening" event of almost any sport. It feels almost more like a per-season meet than a real world cup race xD Probably the least bad time to pick up an injury.

    I personally don't see Qatar hosting anytime soon unless the IOC can't get another credible bid.

    Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid and Alex Pietrangelo have been provisionally named to the Canadian Olympic team (IIHF requested three players be named early, apparently). The 50 man shortlist is due later in October.

    Replace it with what? The figure skating team event had five quotas spots assigned to it (and those are shared with the host nation quotas). The only thing cutting this event would give is more ice time.

    Pairs Olympic qualifiers: Alternates: Really disappointing result for China, who almost certainly would have had three pairs after worlds if not for COVID and because 2 of the 3 teams ahead of them are transfers.     and both grab a second men’s single quota, with the last group pending. If or slip up are in line for a quota in that order. The Turkish skaters finished almost tied, with the skater who is eligible to won a quota 0.06 points behind the skater who is trying to win a quota.
