  1. In a way I wish was the host this year, it would have forced more of a reckoning.
  2. will officially compete. will be boycotting. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/04/arts/music/eurovision-israel-boycott.html
  3. Tyler Tardi has been selected as the alternate for the men’s curling team.
  4. My quick calculation is that there are exactly 112 quotas (58M 54F) that got awarded through the individual events and the men's and women's relays. So no claw backs, but also no spare quotas for the mixed relay (so only 11 teams would compete in the mixed relay).
  5. There are no athlete quotas* linked to the mixed relay, so you need at least two man and two woman already qualified to the Olympics to compete. * they will let you complete a team if you have three athletes, but only if there are quota spots left over in the 112 athlete limit. And it looks like there aren't going to be?
  6. I thought wasn't qualified (not enough athletes)
  7. I’m actually figuring the most likely option would be Taylor Tardi, since he was their alternate last year at worlds. Hard to imagine they pick Mike Caione (since he’s the team physio and not actually a competitive player)
  8. Do we have any inclining of who Jacob’s alternate will be?
  9. Ya Fleury is the big feel good factor in that team.
  10. Sure is looking like we'll get handshakes after eight. Well, Canada's best team is going to the Olympics, hard to complain about that outcome.
  11. "A Halifax explosion" was a *wild* commentary choice by Vick
  12. Dunstone scores four in the fifth to take the lead at the break, 6-5. Jacobs has hammer.
  13. I meant there are two Olympic gold medalists on the Dunstone team too :P
  14. Homan survives, but team Black put on an amazing show.
  15. Doing it for Colleen! First team since Colleen Jones to even be at the Olympic trials, now playing the final at home. Could her daughter in law go to Milan? It would be an incredible story. One thing is for sure, the crows will be rocking.
  16. Brad Jacobs has secured a spot in the men's final, there is no scenario left where he isn't in first place per Devin Heroux.
  17. Freeride also. https://www.lequipe.fr/Ski/Actualites/-c-est-excitant-le-freeride-une-discipline-frisson-en-bonne-voie-pour-integrer-les-jo-2030/1612127
  18. first seeds, as God intended
  19. It’s also that CAS ruled on it so late that it was not tenable to exclude Australia
  20. I guess that’s it - short track thrives on chaos, long track not so much.
  21. She was awesome on the CBC Curling podcast she used to co-host with Devin Heroux. Maybe the most breezy yet serious sports show I’ve ever listened to.
  22. Honestly funny how great the mixed relay is in short track (even though on paper it shouldn’t have worked) while it’s a complete dumpster fire in long track. (I think it being a much shorter distance than the regular relay also helps it have it’s own personality compared to the regular relay)
  23. The women’s team pursuit in particular should be longer. Six laps is way too short.
  24. Yes, though normally that NOC would return five quotas. There is an entry time for all events too.
