Qualification Tracker

Test

Everything posted by NearPup

  1. Relays just don’t work well in long track. The ISU already has a good team format with the team sprint and team pursuit and should just focus on that.
  2. Sorry, 39. Specifically Canada *needs* to skate 3:39.176 or better to have any chance to qualify a men’s team pursuit team (assuming there aren’t *four* quotas that get declined xD )
  3. They need to lay down a 3:29.high at sea level to qualify by time. Qualifying by points is not possible.
  4. It would kinda take a miracle at this point.
  5. No I think this is a very popular opinion for everyone other than the Germans.
  6. Valerie Maltais easily wins the women's 1500m B division, with a time that would have been sixth in the A division.
  7. Wikipedia qualification page updated after today's races.
  8. Bloemen showed he is a medal contender in Milan, and also took a huge step towards qualifying for the 10k
  9. Monster skate! Track record!
  10. Not sure if he's pre-selected but as far as getting NOC quotas for the Olympics last season's results are irelevant. Looks like Howe's poor form is going to cost Canada one quota in both the 1000m and the 1500m. (Though it might not be that big of a deal, it won't affect Canada's overall quota - they just really need to qualify for the TP and for Bloemen to qualify for the 10k in order to get 8 men's quotas - and there is a decent chance Canada will get a third quota come game time in the 1000m, too early to say about the 1500m)
  11. Go check Wikipedia, just updated the men's 1000m standings (Haven't updated the Women's rankings yet because the world cup ranking isn't accurate yet because it doesn't reflect a DQ that happened)
  12. He could not race a single time for the rest of the world cups and he still would have a 500m quota.
  13. Which would also likely be career ending given this is meant to be her final season.
  14. Given his form I am less than optimistic. Unless he's nursing an injury or illness that will get better during the break.
  15. Don't let facts get in the way of talking about something related to the Olympics being surely cancelled!
  16. I mean, they have pretty much the exact same status as (constituent country within an independent country that does compete in the Olympics) so I would say no.
  17. and will get a bye into the second round of the playoff, will have to compete in the first round.
  18. qualifying is absolutely insane. Smallest populated nation to qualify *by far*.
  19. They really deserved each other tonight
  20. Qualify for the World Cup. to the playoffs
  21. Finally updates https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_skating_at_the_2026_Winter_Olympics_–_Qualification (I'm traveling and had to port my script to work on Mac xD )
  22. Which is incidentally also why rugby was so early in 2024 (well, athletics but same difference)
  23. The top 6 by point and the two teams with the fastest time not qualified by points get a quota. The reserve list is based on points (and Italy also gets the last time spot as long as they are one of the six fastest time not qualified by points). The time ranking only takes the four world cups into qualification, but it takes both A and B races into account. Every event except for the mass start has some time qualifiers and use the time ranking for the reserve list.
  24. It will basically come down to getting a time qualification time next week-end.
  25. We might never know why he did it, but given how quiet he's been I wouldn't be surprised if he changed his name *because* Svenson is such an anonymous name in Sweden. And sadly he was quite clearly completly burned out on speed skating by the end of his career.
