    I think Coe would be worse, but I also think that blocking his candidacy is just another sign that the IOC is falling into one man rule.

    Arbitrary application of the law is a real halmark of autoritarianism. The IOC has no issues whatsoever bending or completly ignoring the IOC charter when it favours King Thomas.

    Eh, I actually think the luge team event is the best luge event in terms of TV. It actually has a lot of room for variance.

    I actually think the WDSF did a reasonably good job running the Olympic event (like whatever people think of breaking, the actual breaking competition was well run). But there is definitively a lot of incompetence when it comes to how that federation runs breaking in general. Which is why I think you see most athletes not engage with WDSF events outside of when they had to qualify for the Olympics.

    Relays just don't seem to work well in speed skating. There is a reason why the "classic" team events are pursuits and team sprints. (Well, they don't work well in long track, the relays, including the mixed relay, are amazing in short track)

    IMO it's the worst mixed relay (and worst relay in general, heck, maybe worst team event) across all Olympic sports, which is quite an acomplishment. Just borderline unwatcheable.

    Do we know who will get the bonus spot if/when is banned? I’m assuming it will go by ranking and it will be ? Which seems like sort of a lame way to do it but w/e.

    Rugby 7s is definitively a much better "mini" version of Rugby than Flag Football is of American Football.

    I feel like should be disqualified, they aren’t a real LATAM country. This is an obvious competitive advantage. Hopefully the media will pick up on this outrageous anti-Latino discrimination.

    She’s a kid in surfing terms, she still likely has at least three or four Olympics ahead of her.

    I think the only question marks for automatic host quotas in team sports are 3x3 (since neither Japan nor France got host quotas in both) and cricket. I really can't imagine the US won't get host quotas in handball and field hockey. The men's field hockey team is definitively good enough to warrent a host quota IMO, they finished a respectable 4th at the last Pan-am games and kept it reasonably close agaisnt both Argentina and Canada.

    Cricket makes sense imo, 2028 was the first time the ICC made a serious effort to get it included in the Olympics. And Cricket is firmly a sport that the Olympics needs to include to stay relevant in one of the fastest growing market in the world.
