  1. missed it but finished fifth in the final. missing the final was also a much bigger story. won silver
  2. Swimming is like the one sport where you do ocasionally see swimmers treat a heat as a warmup. May not be what happened in this case but swimmers competing in the heats without any intention of qualifying (and scratching if they do) absolutely happens every Worlds and Olympics.
  3. lol limiting Olympic qualification to full members would be so fucked ip I’d be in favour of kicking out cricket just for that.
  4. lol visit Dallas, you'll see bigger flags right on the drive (or train) from the airport xD
  5. That's comendable.
  6. I remember it well because I woke up extremely early to watch it. Was actually the first Olympic football match I’ve watched.
  7. You’ll never guess which is the first women‘s football match both and played at the Olympics :P
  8. And it was needed, Gaziev did not look good at all leading off.
  9. Canada finishes 9th in the heats of the women’s 4x100m free and fifth in the men’s 4x100m free.
  10. Molly Carlson has a massive miss on her final dive and finishes ninth, but Simone Leathead wins silver.
  11. I’m not sure if it’s a hard and fast rule but it’s absolutely in the 2028 qualification system principles that qualification events shouldn’t be more than two years before the Olympics.
  12. https://www.olympics.com/en/news/conmebol-copa-america-femenina-2025-full-schedule-all-results-scores-and-standings Actually insane for the two South American spots to be decided this early.
  13. People always seem to forget about trans men's exitence in these discussions >.>
  14. I'm happy with any host that isn't or, especially, . Either Budapest or Istanbul would be a really intriguing choice (despite the less than ideal political climate there). Madrid would be a great and safe choice. Any bid would also be great, but 2036 is a really unfortunate aniversary. And lets be honnest, they would probably want to host some events in because of the aniversary and... that's a can of worms I'd rather we not open right now. will host the Olympics sooner or later, won't be mad if that time is 2036. I'm still bitter about the absolute disaster that Dehli 2010 was, but they should be ready for the Olympics by the 2030s.
  15. I do really recommend enjoying the heck out of Lacrosse (and at least watching the gold medal matches). Does it deserve to be in the Olympics? Nope! Is it a super entertaining sport to watch? Heck ya!
  16. Six team tournaments for baseball, softball, cricket, lacrosse and flag football for real life!
  17. He was involved in one of the most memorable Olympic event for me (I really vivibly remember that first men's ski cross final). Really sad to hear he died in such a random fashion.
  18. Unsurprising. Her run of success was fun.
  19. They should move the races to Paris, I hear the Seine is finally clean.
  20. The ITF has confirmed that mixed doubles will be the mixed tennis event on the schedule (as it has been since London 2012) and that the mixed doubles final is the one on the second day of the tennis program. This all but confirms that they will be using the US Open mixed doubles format.
  21. Men's / women's / mixed doubles, then men's / women's singles, then the mixed team event.
  22. I feel like it would be smart to have the men's shot put in prime time given it's currently one of the US' strongest event (not just in athletics but in general).
