  1. Ya this is a really high level contest so far.
  2. Sadly very hard to judge amplitude on TV (which is a pretty important criteria)
  3. Not surprising, but a hopeful sign for slopestyle that it was even a consideration for him to compete.
  4. Genuinely impressive outing by . If anything the scoreline made it look closer than it was. Also was cool seeing Laura Fortino back on Olympic ice. I guess Italy can already say they have an Olympic champion in hockey xD
  5. Awesome news. The victory plaza was a neat experiment but imo medal ceremonies at the venue are a lot more impactful.
  6. Obviously doesn’t mean McMorris will be able to compete (whether in big air or slopestyle later in the games), but at least it appears it isn’t a life threatening or altering injury.
  7. I wonder if I'd be able to use my American HBO Max account to watch Eurosport coverage (either when I'm in Italy or using a VPN)
  8. It clutters the graphic for no reason. Extremely grating.
  9. Can someone explain to me why Peacock through a VPN is working with no issue (I can even case it to a TV) while CBC Gem without a VPN was basically not working - freezing twice per end on average and impossible to cast to a TV? >.>
  10. lol five minutes into the Olympics and there is already something embarassing - the lights went off
  11. Peacock has it in the US (watching the replay now) but requires subscription + VPN.
  12. I’ve actually been in Kitchener quite a few times already xD Though this will be my first time going for a non-work related reason
  13. So far this year I was in Florida, am in Sun Peaks (BC) atm, am going to Milan, Livigno and Cortina for the Olympics and will be in Kitchener the week after the Olympics. (and for context I live in Seattle so)
  14. I wonder if instead of having flexibility around what sport to add there should be one or two team sports per game with an expanded field (of 16 or 32 or w/e) where the host gets to pick which which team sports (if any) has an expanded field.
  15. It makes sense when you think about it though. Football is spread out, so if you live in, say, Lyon or Marseille it’s an easy way to "go to the Olympics" without having to travel.
  16. Some double digit percentage of all ticket sales at the Summer Olympics is from Football, and all that for a relatively low cost. And the TV numbers can’t be that bad because when the IOC did its revenue tier list of sports Football was in B (behind only the big usual suspects like Athletics, Aquatics, Gymnastics, Volleyball, Basketball…), and 40% of that ranking was TV ratings.
  17. This would increase, not reduce, costs. It’s consistently a revenue generating sport.
  18. Vonn says she will try to compete. She tore her ACL in Crans Montana.
  19. Seems fair to me. I actually think, given the six team limit, this is sort of the ideal qualification system (for any sport with six quotas).
  20. Deanna and Max missing the team event is extremely sad. If they miss the Olympics all together it would be tragic :<
