Qualification Tracker

Test

Everything posted by NearPup

  1. There seems to be a lot less appetite to turn down quotas this time around.
  2. Looks like there will be very few re-allocations this year. I would not be surprised if the two re-allocated quotas got already is it. I'm not even all that optimistic about men's snowboard halfpipe (where Canada is first on the list).
  3. You should ask their federation, they haven't confirmed or turned down their quotas yet xD They have enough eligible skiers to do so if they want.
  4. With turning down their women's quota in cross country skiing it looks like will get a seventh women's quota in cross country.
  5. In general we are getting a whole lot less rejected quotas than in 2022 (which makes sense given that whole Olympic cycle was all kinds of weird) It also looks that with quotas being harder to earn than they used to be countries are less likely to reject them.
  6. has now accepted all initial quotas in every discipline except Freestyle Skiing (where, because of very stupid qualification rules, need to turn down seven :< )
  7. I believe is first reserve for a woman's spot? If so they should get it since is planning on not using their sixth woman's quota.
  8. They should probably be upset at the FIS for the really ridiculous way quotas 2 and 3 are assigned xD
  9. Snowboarding is the first discipline where Canada responds to their available quotas, and they unsurprisingly accept everything.
  10. I think literally every neutral is happy with this outcome.
  11. Canada does get a third two-woman sled (but not a third monobob sled) Ribi did yell “going to the Olympics!” after her run, so she sure thinks she’s going.
  12. Nice to see with a "real" (needing more than a minimum standard) qualifications in two different sports (moguls and skeleton). Had you told me before the season that would get four quotas I would have been overjoyed, was worried the men might get zero 😅
  13. Maybe, but the tickets sure aren't priced like the IOC doesn't see value in that sport xD
  14. Good thing Canada and the US are limited to 32 athletes!
  15. Higher turn score is the tie-breaker.
  16. And remember to root against Fournier-Beaudry and Cizeron (along with Sørensen if he's there), the big villains of the ice dancing world xD
  17. But I was told on good authority that these games would be a disaster for the team
  18. Or the American team can arrange their internal ranking to be as if Canada entered all their athletes.
  19. The IBSF has concluded their investigation on the late withdrawal of Canadian athletes from the Lake Placid race and will not be taking any actions.
  20. The IOC is very TV ratings and ticket sale focused when it comes to sports to add / drop, seemingly. Which is probably not the best metric to use, but it does explain why alpine snowboarding is in more trouble than something like aerials or ski half-pipe (which should probably be closer to the chopping block if we go by competitive depth).
