    Once again in the ballpark on a beautiful Seattle summer day. The Urawa fans are deafening. The Inter Milan fans are dead silent, they are seen but not heard.

    IMO that’s good news given the circumstances. I was worried they would get the extra 12 quotas by reducing the size of the teams from 3 to 2.

    The problem there is that you’d also need some additional individual quotas to keep it fair for the countries not qualified in the mixed team event.

    Superbowl-winning tight-end Anthony Auclaire, who was last an NFL started in the 2021 season, has been named to the national team. Katie Sowers, who was previously in the 49ers coaching staff, is also interested in being in the coaching staff for Canada's womens team.

    It looks like these European regional champions are only able to perform in the soft European winters during the off season and that they aren’t built for the crucible of summer, when God intended for people to play soccer. Sure PSG won League 1 and the Champions League, but can they do it on a sunny night in Los Angeles? So far the answer is no.

    I agree with Josh that the 100m is the "easier" world record of the two. I assume the 100m WR will beaten within the next two decades or so. It's very impressive but I still get the nagging feeling that we never quite saw Bolt's best possible time, which would mean that, for sure, a human *can* go faster.

    Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard just won a silver medals at worlds for the second time in her career!

    Very unsurprising but still good to see former Seattle Kraken Pierre-Édouard Bellemare on the list. Real shame Antoine Rousel retired a few years ago, would have loved to see him in the Olympics.

    This was actually a pretty fun match. Not to broken up about Seattle losing given I’m a Toronto fan xD The attendance was somewhat concerning. Only 30k and change for a home game for one of the team with the biggest fan base in the US. I also got lower bowl tickets for next Saturday’s Inter - Urawa matchup (there were a *lot* of open seats), which is less than I spent in worse tickets for a Gold Cup match in Vancouver next week…

    A woman sitting a few sections from me got an entire beer thrown on her head by a Botafogo fan after they scored and she did *not* look happy.

    Not a terrible turnout in Seattle but very far from a sellout.
