  1. It’s very much a case of two world class players who aren’t really a good team. That being said they are both so good individually that they are probably the favourites.
  2. This is more how I expected them to play. John Moriss in particular is incredible when he’s on. Their big problem is that they started playing mixed doubles together like two weeks ago xD
  3. Wow, China accidentally blanks the eight end! This is huge since it means Korea is going to have hammer in ninth.
  4. Official in the Canada - US game placed the wrong stone in the house before the 7th end xD Only got caught after Becca played her first rock (luckily they caught it before either rocks got hit)
  5. Okay Korean fans, that was an appropriate shot to cheer for xD
  6. Huh, official site says the same thing. Assuming they all enter: Kamil Stoch Richard Freitag Andreas Wellinger Daniel-Andre Tande Johann Andre Forfang Robert Johansson Stefan Kraft Junshiro Kobayashi Anders Fannemel Dawid Kubacki
  7. None. They mercifully got rid of that rule.
  8. I think he invented a whole new level of casualness.
  9. Looks like this course is suiting Manuel Osborne-Paradis pretty well, which I'm not shocked about (since it's kind of a downhill - Super-G hybrid). He's still a long shot but eh, who knows. The venue looks nice but the course itself is completely toothless.
  10. Man John Morris was terrible this game.
  11. That’s quite the understatement.
  12. Number of stones per end (5 vs 8), the pre positioned stones, number of ends (8 vs 10). Pace of play is also much brisker in doubles.
  13. It’s certainly quite different from traditional Curling. I quite like it as an apetizer.
  14. Close game between Canada and Norway so far. Morris made some pretty bad mistakes but hey, tie game. Nice venue and good crowd.
  15. Speaking of long drives, I wouldn’t mind seeing some ice rinks in Edmonton heing used as a secondary ice hockey venue or as the curling venue in the Calgary 2026 bid.
  16. To be honnest if any Swiss city hosts, no matter how impractical they really should use St Moritz for the sliding sports. It’s the most iconic bobsleigh venue in the world and second place ain’t close.
  17. I mostly remember because there was TV broadcast quality video of Nodar Kumaritashvili’s death, and I remember hearing that Georgian TV carried his fatal training run live.
  18. I saw Justin Kripps comment on social media that the ice conditions where top notch, looks like the forst training time confirm this.
  19. Not quite true, downhill training runs 2 and 3 are streamed live by NBC and there has been some live broadcast of luge trainig in the past.
  20. I think Ice Climbing is very ready for the Winter Olympics (though that’s a less appealing choice now that climbing is in the summer games). It still amazes me that the IOC appears to be so against cross countey running in the Winter Olympics, it would be a very natural fit IMO.
  21. I am also willing to bet quite a bit that Beckie Scott’s crusade against Russian athletes has literally nothing to do with Putin and is rather entirely due to Olga Danilova and Larisa Lazutina...
