  1. Oh, he's a former doper, too. Excellent.
  2. Adam van Koeverden, Athens 2004 gold medalist, is now the MP from Milton.
  3. Sadly? Mongolia qualifying would be a joke. I'd be ecstatic if Mongolia qualified by merit rather than because they gamed the dumb ranking system well.
  4. I would actually quite like to see a Four Continents Curling Championships now that Asia has a handful of competitive countries.
  5. That would actually be Karuizawa, which hosted equestrian in 1964 and curling in 1998.
  6. There are plenty of sports where I can see myself cheering for the US. Soccer though? Too many painful memories for that to happen.
  7. Texas is not the South. Texas is Texas :P
  8. Dallas, TX.
  9. Citizen, as of today.
  10. So hi guys. I’m American now :D
  11. Oh sure, this is England’s fault ?
  12. To bump up African participation overall. Whatever, it’s very hard for African boats to qualify for the other events in rowing. It’s not like any single sculler with a legitimate medal chance is missing out because of this.
  13. He tested positive in 2019. All his results since then have been invalidated.
  14. Qualifying for the Olympics as a ring specialist was extremely hard this cycle. Fourth at worlds not enough, that's harsh.
  15. Conor Dwyer, USA, Swimming. 20 month ban, retiring effective immediately.
  16. It would be fine if they didn’t use the completely, 100% BS federation ranking.
  17. Those systems aren’t good but, again, they don’t depend on a ranking system that has zero correlation with how strong a country’s top 3x3 team is. The qualification system would not be a complete joke if the ranking system it depends on entirely was a reasonable.
  18. Karate would have the worst qualification system of this cycle if not for 3x3. But even then, you don’t see countries organize bs domestic kata competitions to farm world ranking points for their 100th rank karateka.
  19. 3x3 has the worst qualification system of any sport since I started following that in 2008. By a huge margin. I dare anyone to find me a worst one.
  20. Ya, if they straight up copied the format of the mixed alpine team event it would be a very good event. I’ve always been of the opinion that the duals format would work very well in a team event.
  21. Apparently the FIS is developing a mixed dual mogul event with an eye on including such event in the Olympics. That would actually be a pretty cool way to (finally) include dual moguls in the Olympics.
  22. The Chinese Communist party and the American left have almost nothing in common tbh.
  23. I feel this format is much more balanced. I really love watching the AC in major events (not so much in world cups) so I am glad it is sticking around. It is good to have one race in the program of major events that rewards all-rounders.
  24. Glad they are keeping it alive, and intrigued to see the effect the format change will have.
