    I was on a domestic flight in Canada, the first thing anybody said when we touched down was that Kobe had just died. A bunch of us, complete strangers, started talking about him and reminiscing for a couple minutes. We lost an icon today.

    I think 16 is the only number that allows both a fair competition and a good TV product. I basically want the same format alpine snowboarding used before they went to this one run nonsense.

    Canadian cross country skiing has been on an incredible decline. Incredibly sad.

    They should really only allow 16 qualifiers and have a two run format. Basically the old city event format, but with two qualifying runs. I really hate the one run format in parallel races.

    If we're going to mess with regions I'd rather have SEA + Oceania as a region. Asia is already too crowded as a qualification region as is.

    is the 12th and last team to qualify. Very happy for the team, Beating at home was a big bit of redemption given what happened four years ago. This time qualifying doesn't feel like a fluke.

    The Venezuelan team better send a case of Cava to the Chilean team. Chile had nothing to play for (they were already eliminated no matter what happened today). Huge missed opportunity for Colombia to qualify for the very first time in Volleyball. It would have been a huge upset.

    Ya, it’s a good track. They went a couple years before Sochi but they had to stop for a while because the Sochi track hired the La Plagne icemaster for the 2014 Olympics.
