  1. I still remember how she absolutely dominated the 8 or 9 horse jump-off for bronze in 2008. It was pretty impressive.
  2. Wow, disappointing way to end that match for . Letting two serves go, bunch of serving faults...
  3. If I recall correctly the FEI originally wanted to assign the 2 spots from group D and 2 spots for group E by ranking, and the Pan Am national federations requested to go back to 4 spots at the Pan Am games. Basically everyone in the Americas prefers the current system over using the ranking.
  4. IIRC it does not matter for show jumping qualification.
  5. FWIW the US often uses a female breastroker. Easy to do when you have Lilly King on your team.
  6. Canadian show jumping would be in real trouble right now if Mario Deslaurier hadn't come back to competing for Canada...
  7. It deeply amuses me that Canada won the team event in their weakest discipline.
  8. Who’s name is Hernán Humaña. We don’t have to go very far to find the missing ñ xD
  9. beat the by 2 to 0. Has to be the biggest win from our women’s team since the early 90s.
  10. has been completely absent from the second half so far. 19 - 15 .
  11. So is going to beat in the men's handball semi finals... Wait, my stream is behind, they have lost? :P
  12. Talk about a giant failure for ...
  13. Dominic Barona putting together two great waves in a row to, in all likelihood, qualify for the women's finals.
  14. Zero shooting quotas for . Even by the low low standards of Canadian sports shooting this is a very disappointing showing.
  15. What a complete disaster day for the Canadian team...
  16. Yes, Canada has had two horror cross country rides, while Brazil has had two solid rides. Even with Brazil's lead-off rider being eliminated this is not looking great for the Canadian team.
  17. You are correct, I had not realized that continental quotas were re-allocated this way. One small caveat, the Pan-Am games has a bronze medal match so if Alves wins the bronze medal she will be ahead of Cepede-Royg for re-allocation purposes regardless of ranking.
  18. Is anyone broadcasting the cross country?
  19. Caroline Dolehide and Nadia Podoroska will qualify for the women's singles if they are in the top 300 on June 8th, 2020 and there aren't four athletes from or already qualified. Dolehide will not be selected since there are 29(!) American women ranked ahead of her. Podoroska is the second ranked Argentinian women and will qualify as long as she maintains a top 300 ranking (she is currently 288th). Unfortunately Veronica Cepede-Royg may now only qualify by ranking. She is currently 153rd and probably needs to climb around 80th to qualify.
  20. It's like half pipe if the half-pipe moved, was unstable and changed drastically from venue to venue. What kind of surfing you see on any given day depends a lot on the conditions.
  21. Surfing lends itself much better to being edited down. It creates spectacular pictures but there is a ton of downtime due to the nature of the sport. That being said it has much better live TV coverage than the Olympic sailing classes at the professional level, so clearly somebody is watching.
  22. I can't figure out if I just don't understand amateur boxing scoring at all or if the judges just throw a coin in the air to pick who wins the rounds.
  23. The Keirin is honestly pretty brillant. The original Japanese format may actually be even better than the International one.
  24. More like Canada’s fault for laying an egg in qualifying.
  25. It’s different from the point race too in that there is a sprint every two laps. TBH the new Omnium format is basically just a glorified points race and I don’t have a huge problem with that.
