  1. CBD doesn’t cause impairment. It’s very much not THC.
  2. I mean whatever, it’s probably no more advantageous or dangerous than the antiinflammation drugs that are kosher with WADA (which is what CBD is useful for).
  3. I’m not that shocked Yates blew up tbh. The thord week of a grand tour is hard and he was untested.
  4. It was much less impressive when the Blues did it because a. the league had six expansion teams that year (so half the league) and b. all six expansion teams where in the same division, which meant one was guaranteed to advance to the Stanley Cup finals.
  5. Is there really demand for that? In the US at least International baseball is an afterthought at best - I'm pretty sure the Little League World Series (which is played by literal pre-pubescent children) is a bigger deal than any International Baseball event here.
  6. ...anyone has any clue what the difference is between the Snowboard mixed team slalom and the Snowboard alpine mixed team parallel event?
  7. Oh, no, they are trying to get it in for the 2022 Olympics (and it isn't even the only event making it's debut at the 2021 Worlds that they are trying to get into the 2022 Olympics *cough* parallel slalom *cough*). It's just that since they are adding it to Worlds for 2021 it basically guarantees inclusion in 2026.
  8. The FIS announced that women's nordic combined would be part of the Nordic Skiing world championships from 2021, which essentially guarantees women's Nordic Combined will be in the Olympics by 2026.
  9. They are strictly better than not having a host. I think it’s pretty clear that combining the freestyle and snowboarding worlds wasn’t such a great idea. Other than Park City in 2019 all the hosts have been from meh to WTF.
  10. Only bidder. Just like in 2021.
  11. TBH on a personal level I fully support Kenyan and Ethiopian athletes who switch to represent Qatar, Bahrein or whatever other country. It’s just a much better option for them financially.
  12. This is a terible, no good rule that might as well refer to Semenya by name and only apply to her. On what planet is a high testosterone level only advantageous from the 400m to the mile? Oh, ya, that’s Semenya’s known range of distances. What a joke. And I say that as someone who doesn’t think Semenya should be allowed to compete at her current level of testosterone.
  13. That article is way too light on details.
  14. Isn’t there always a bunch of confusion over how qualification actually works for Canoeing? I feel like the Wikipedia page always ends up having a couple errors.
  15. Christine Girard is now officially the Olympic gold medalist from the London 2012 -63kg Weightlifting event.
  16. I mean, I don’t mind either (bias and all ) and it’s not like Canadian eventers or dressage riders get humiliated on the world stage. Just seems like a lot of teams which leads to a very, shall we say, kind qualification standard in the Americas. Especially if the US qualifies from WEG.
  17. I mean, there wasn’t really all that much contentious by then. Also congrats to Equestrians Canada (or whatever the EF is called) on lobbying it’s way to free a full team.
  18. Worth remembering that Lori Fung was, and I’m being generous here, extremely lucky to win her Olympic gold medal. It isn’t indicative of Canada’s strenght (or lack therof) in rhythmic gymnastic. I agree with you though, and I think trampoline (including double mini and tumbling) should replace rhythmic on the program.
  19. Don’t really care about the medal table at the Commonwealth, especially considering how much the program changes year by year. I mostly care about it as a good test in a select few sports where the Commonwealth as a whole is competitive (diving, swimming, triathlon and track cycling come to mind) and as a fun side event otherwise.
  20. Am I ever glad her parents never bothered to make her a naturalized American citizen...
  21. Sure looks like the 2017 Worlds will be a good preview of the kind of competition we can expect...
  22. Team Edin had their Swedish Olympic Comitee funding cut to zero. This is apparently part of a large cutbacks to the funding of Swedish winter sports.
  23. The issues with Qatar are directly linked to the World Cup itself. The Japanese whale hunt, while a travesty, are very much ubrelated to the Olympics.
  24. Apparently they want advice from the IOC. But given the ceremonies would be in Milan I guess it would have to be branded as such. I actually think this is a very agenda 2020 friendly bid concept and I kinda like it.
  25. Because surely there is no way China will win in 2022... ...oh.
