Test

Everything posted by intoronto

  1. Pan American Games will be the qualification tournament for the Americas (for all three disciplines)
  2. Does he have a Canadian wife?
  3. Taekwondo sees a slight cut to its quotas (I believe first Olympic sport to see a reduction from 2019). Qualification system (in Spanish)
  4. qualifies for the men's volleyball tournament. Which means either and/or will not qualify.
  5. Canada won 13 out of 22 gold medals at the Pan American track cycling championships.
  6. Wakeboarding quotas: M: W: qualifies in each event as hosts, + best non qualified athlete at Asuncion 2022.
  7. Both declined last time due to the World Cup, but there is a bit of a gap from WC to PAG next year so maybe both will play
  8. Hockey Canada is also facing backlash and negativity in the press for covering up two serial assaults at two different world juniors. The apathy towards them could also be contributing to it.
  9. Because they are too good (literally) since they have to place between 3-5th, which is highly unlikely with the team's strength atm
  10. Canoe Sprint quotas (using race results). This system is always convoluted and the actual quotas may be totally different. Men's canoe/Women's canoe and women's kayak had leftover quotas as not enough entries could fill them up. My guess is they are awarded as wildcards, but we shall see. Men's Canoe: x3, x2 x1 Men's Kayak: x6 x5, x4, x3, x2 x1 Women's Canoe: x3, x2 x1 Women's Kayak: x6 x5 x4, x2, x1 14 nations qualified (ie all competing nations at the qualifier, qualified at least one boat). Good too see Belize qualify again in this sport.
  11. A 13 year old won the air rifle at nationals!
  12. Archery qualification system Shooting qualification system
  13. General rule is no Olympians, Commonwealth etc. but we have Dawn Richardson, Beijing Olympian in bobsleigh competing in athletics here.
  14. Canada had a pretty decent games for what was especially a team missing a lot of its top athletes. Canada could have easily won more golds and medals had the best team been here. I Guess in hindsight you can't really dwell on what ifs. 26 gold ties Delhi's total is almost double 2018. 92 medals is the most since Manchester 2002. These are strong numbers and hopefully more in 2026. However with no wrestling or judo on the program atm, it will be tough.
  15. With USA qualifying, does that mean Canada and Brazil basically have a huge hurdled cleared for them?
  16. Beach volleyball Australian announcer trying so hard to downplay Canada's victory...lol. Revenge from Tokyo...and the podium is the same as four-years ago with the top two teams repeating.
  17. England has been dqd
  18. Pretty cool...
  19. The Canada Summer Games from the Niagara region in Ontario kicks of tonight (August 6th) and runs through August 21st.
  20. Canada finally wins a medal, a bronze in the last event on the program, the men's 4x400 relay, ie the least successful of Canada's 4 relays (not counting the mixed bs)
  21. But one has a Canadian wife!!! Can't forget that.
  22. FWIW I think this team was put together last minute for this event
  23. These wrestling announcers are so bad. One calls Stewart by the wrong name, doesn't take the hint from the other and continues saying the wrong name lol
