    In this case I'm particulary happy the Germans lost their home streak! They have been DQ even at Olympics for heating the sleds before so it's not like dominance doesn't breathe arrogance

    Neah, anyone other than a German winning a luge event is OK with me regardless of the circumstances! If rain-shortened Indy 500/Daytona 500 wins are valid then a one-run luge event should be as well.

    This is the first win on a German track for a non-German female luger since Andrea Tagwerker won in Koenigsee in November 1997! I'll never complain about that streak getting broken!

    I'm pretty sure performing big air on skis is easier than snowboard due to weight factor alone? Not that it's actually any safer though?

    Vlhova is too heavy for this soft snow, I bet she was digging too deep on the edges which slowed her down. Business as usual for Shiffrin though. 56 total wins now.

    She can always change her mind in the summer though? I wouldn't rule that out. It's still astonishing how much she has won when competing vs Riesch & Maze in her prime and how often she got injured along the way.

    No real shock after the AO final, Kvitova would have never come here if she wasn't the defending champion

    You can clearly see the likes of Vlhova & Worley are pushing it all the way down. Shiffrin looks very effortless and it's not like it's all down to her style tbh. I've seen her try much harder is past years in the GS. The GS standings took another hit with Worley's mistake & Rebensburg & Brignone DNF. Outside of Vlhova nobody is even trying to do sth about Shiffrin. Even Holdener has way too many off days this season.

    Shiffrin almost took it too easy in the 2nd run. Hell, both her runs looked at 75-80%.
