Not exactly. Canada is not among those countries conquering China during 19th century. And China has a long period of time keeping peace with Canada. If looked back to the 19th century, Russia is the no.1 enemy who invaded China most land and helping separate Mongolia out of China in WW2. But still China and Russia are very close right now because of the geopolitical reality.2 points -

Let's assume China and North Korea have extradition treaty and North Korea sanctions Air Canada because it does business with USA. And North Korea ask China to extradite the CFO of Air Canada during his/her business trip in China. So what will China do? Will China proactively get involved into this shithole? Let's be clear. Canada is not the first US ally asked for extradition but the first did it. Is the country ignored the extradition lawless and US sent bomb there?2 points -

The girl just can not take a breath After arriving to Slovakia she was welcomed by the Minister of Education and Sports and the head of Parliament, as the first officials to officially thank her for her representation. Later in a specially prepared hall in the Bratislava castle she had a very long press conference, in the coming days she was also invited to the presidential palace. Last athletes who were there during the gala lunch were the hockey players after their silver in 2012 if I remember correctly1 point

The world lacrosse championships has 1 of the most insane competition formats I've ever seen that basically guarantees 4 or 5 countries at the top and then they have to have every team play classification games so they can decide who finishes in 37th place. A new record in marathon for was set last week in Germany by Iván Zarco with 2:17:46. Nothing groundbreaking or weird to this, except for the fact that it wasnt Iván Zarco running. Photos of the event show that it was spanish athlete Camilo Santiago running with his bib. Idk what happened there, but WA is giving it as a national record for Ivan when it wasnt even him racing. I smell something fishy.1 point

But this case proved he can get away with it and that's the most important thing. He's not gonna lose his job over meddling with any court proceedings IMO. Hail to the democracy! If Trump called him to lock Meng up and he obeyed then he's just a mere servant on the global scale. And even Joe Biden would know that right now.1 point -
I understand after the trial begins Trudeau can't do much, he can't meddle in the case. But it's his call to detain Ms Meng at the very beginning. This is the start of the story. The whole explanation you said is well known by most educated Chinese. But it just don't justify the move. Because this case is not an economic crime, it's a political battle between US and China. The name of crime is that US forbids any enterprise doing business with Iran but Huawei did and then US could ask Canada detain its CFO. Don't use beautiful wording to explain the rule of order. Use common sense to think Should Canada get involve this case? Does it sound like a case or political trap?1 point

Retaliation is an old weapon in politics. Besides USA & Canada think that whatever China does is a sham so why should China care about appearances anymore? They simply don't. Trudeau is a second league player on the Chinese chessboard anyway.1 point -
But as a politician like Trudeau have to understand politics is not calling for help from media and asking for signatures. All these moves are extremely naive in China's eyes. China don't believe in American-style "law and order" and believe in tit for tat retaliation. As a politician he should be aware of it and make decision based on this. NK is just an example, never mind.1 point

Making moves to please chief Chinese critic Donald Trump worked short-term but now you're dealing with long-term effects. Trudeau won the 100m dash but China is running in the marathon And USA is still trying to navigate the Nord Stream 2 mine field. You just can't put China and Russia out of business by bringing a knife to a gunfight.1 point -

[FANTASY CONTESTS] Biathlon Manager Game Discussion Thread
Henry_Leon reacted to Wumo for a topic
Final Standing available here brunamoura toulousain Henry_Leon A long an exciting Biathlon World Cup season is now over. The men's world cup was a nail-biter that was decided on the last shooting. Not only was their world cup a close race, also the race for winning this year's Biathlon Manager Game came down to the wire. By a margin of only 36,5 points, the BMG 2020/21-champion is @brunamoura! She has been in the "yellow jersey" through most of the season but here in the last world cups toulousain has been getting closer and closer for each race. But she can take a sight of relief, as in the end, her team was the strongest one and she can be crowned as this season's champion. Huge congratulations, @brunamoura! As mentioned above, with a strong finish of the season, @toulousain was close to take the honour from Bruna, but he ended just shy of the top spot. Overall a really strong performance from last season's third-placed manager. This season he takes a step up and improve to a well-deserved second place. Congrats with an impressive season and result from your team, @toulousain! There was also a very tight race for the last spot on the podium. The race was between @Werloc and @Henry_Leon. Before the last two races, it looked to be Werloc who would take the third place overall. But with a strong performance by Henry_Leon's team, he would come from behind and secure the third place in the last metres. A big congratulation to @Henry_Leon with grabbing the last spot on the honourable podium. However, also a brilliant perfomance from @Werloc and his team this season. Despite being overtaken in the final races, you can certaintly be proud of you and your team's performance. Lastly I would like to thank all managers who took their time to participate in this second edition of BMG. I hope to see you all and many more for next season. It's your participation and involvement that makes me motivated to continue doing this. Thank you! @hckosice, @brunamoura, @Vojthas, @heywoodu, @Henry_Leon, @Werloc, @Fly_like_a_don, @EupenM, @Federer91, @IoNuTzZ, @toulousain, @Monzanator, @SalamAkhi, @RobtheAggie1 point -

If someone takes a look at the IWF calendar , there is no qualification event left in the calendar except the continental championships. (the last one was a tournament in Colombia which is cancelled/postponed now) https://www.iwf.net/competitions/calendar/ even those continental champs are not a sure thing considering the pandemic but if nothing else happens only 1 event is left for each athlete to collect more points! the calendar actually says the Oceania "senior" championships will be held in August !! (after the Olympics) , per new rules, particiatping in one event in 2021 is mandatory for everybody, so I don't know what Oceania athletes are going to do ! and some guys like Om Yun-chol needed to participate in 2 events to be eligible. so technically he is out of the Olympics. but I expect to see some major changes in the qualification rules. this is not going to work. PS: IWF sucks but we knew it for so many years.1 point -

IOC is not innocent here. it's impossible to think nobody in IOC wasn't aware of his actions, I mean I knew as a normal person ! how come IOC didn't ? we should thank German TV, ARD for that report, otherwise this guy was still at power. only death could make him go and I'm not even sure about that, he would found a way to bribe death too !1 point -

I read the whole report, this pictures Tamas Ajan as devil himself while I agree with that, I wonder why nobody stopped this devil in past 45 years ?! hard to believe nobody in IOC/WADA/etc knew how corrupt he is. everybody in weightlifting community knows about him. I (as a normal sport fan) am not even an expert in this sport and I know some of his dirty actions. I really hope they kick all of his friends out of IWF, maybe they even have to destroy IWF and create something new. this organization is corrupt to the core. I think this lady Ursula Papandrea is a good person but she is surrounded by Ajan's friends.1 point -

as of last night, IWF officially disqualified the 2012 Olympic Champion Oleksiy Torokhtiy ! we knew that for a year but in situations like this , first we hear the news of IOC disqualifying the guy, and then few months later IWF modifies the result but IWF website shows IOC already banned the guy, probably few months ago but they just forgot to make it public ! now officially Navvab Nasirshalal from Iran will be upgraded to the gold medal position. Bartlomiej Bonk of Poland will receive the silver medal. but still we have to wait for the bronze medal because eventual 4th placer Ruslan Nurudinov is also banned by IOC (not yet by IWF) and when they finish his case, the bronze medal will go to his countryman Ivan Efremov. and this will be Iran's 3rd gold medal after re-testing ! and 2 of those new Olympic Champions were last minute replacements ! if someone checks this guy Nasirshalal's resume, his next best result is bronze at the Asian Championships speaking of luck and having the best day of your career at the right time. now Iran has 7 gold medals in that Olympics, same as Japan ! and only 1 less than sport powerhouses like Italy and Australia only if they could win those medals in the competition and not 7 years later ---------------------------- Edit: checking IOC website, actually they disqualified him tonight ! still it should be months ago though, https://www.olympic.org/news/ioc-sanctions-one-athlete-for-failing-anti-doping-tests-at-london-2012-41 point -
