  3. But she already had, since she had a top-half finish at the junior world championships (unless that criteria only goes for the world championships qualification) In any case, now she definitely did indeed

  4. never seen Ondra celebrating like that! for a 14th place!!! and he won so many gold medals here and there! that's a sign of how much does he feel the pressure and how does he really want to make it to the Olympics...and well, now he can only lose his spot, after such a good (for his standard) performance in his only weak discipline...

  5. I’m not one to brag, though I do seem to do it often on here (and that makes me said a bit, because that’s not really my personality, especially when it comes to sports). But I felt the need to #humblebrag right now so: Made it to the California State Geography Bee finals. I qualified out of regionals thanks to my knowledge of Guatemala’s National Bird (the Quetzal). I was eliminated at state finals because I missed two questions (One was about: Which is more likely to live in the Artic, a fossa or a musk ox? And the other was about naming countries that border the Danube River). Safe to say I know a bit geography. I score in the 99th percentile in the US. Also, I don’t think the world is “flate”, not would I ever eat a BigMac in my life. I’m also pretty certain I know the difference between and . I just made an honest/lazy mistake.

  9. If Coleman qualified that would be rather unexpected. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if the US would qualify anyone. Great performance clearly

  11. Ah, thanks. @MHSN @Laraja I’ve never seen that happened at the World Cup level, but that’s a semi-normal occurrence in indoor climbing. Some holds are just tough to bolt down, and sometimes some just come loose.

  16. Congrats to Erdal for the win. Never did I think that Dickinson would get 2nd place! Hettich missed all 10, and still finished in 52nd place. I could not tell you the last time there was an American on the IBU Cup podium.

  24. Don’t know about him specifically, there are lots of American-based Brits in various sports at the moment. Usually it’s American-born people with one British parent who have been through or are still in the NCAA system and who are eligible for some kind of subsidy or help from the lottery-funded British system.

  30. They're not very strong but should have solid teams. Croatia could probably have the strongest one, but we'll see, it's too early. And Croatia has a history of failing when expectations are high.

  31. As I suspected, Brazilian and South African riders are indeed struggling to get on entry lists for the remaining indoor events... Same is happening with Austria and France, but not nearly to the same extent. This is becoming quite bizarre... http://www.eurodressage.com/2019/11/26/brazil-south-africa-austria-france-sprinting-olympic-tokyo-team-qualification

  34. BIG UPDATE I've updated the sports in which nations can qualify in, including remove some which they are no longer possible to qualify in. I've also took into account tripartite invitations. While the invitations can sometimes be a bit random, I tried my best to see which active nations have a chance at getting one. Fun Facts: - 12/70 remaining nations only have chances in athletics or athletics+swimming. - Senegal has the most sports where it has a chance at qualifying in with 11. Behind them are Cameroon, Jordan and Montenegro with 9 each. - 60/70 remaining nations are eligible to obtain a tripartite invitation. The 10 that aren't includes... Without tripartite invitations the nations that will struggle to qualify many athletes are Bolivia and Republic of Congo as they only have chances in three sports each

  35. no comment, instead, on Ghisolfi's drama...he just killed himself with an awful speed performance, then he had a good (for his poor standard) bouldering, but not good enough to make up for the disaster in the 1st discipline...and finally, that heartbreaking lead climb... by the way, it was obvious that they were not going to try and separate Ghisolfi and Ginès Lòpez, which means that actually there was not so much pathos as they tried to sell on the YT broadcast...the only way for the Italian to qualify for the final was to win (with no tie) the Lead discipline...and with the Spaniard tying his result, he was out all the way... now he only has the very last continental spot up for grabs, but it will be almost impossible for him, as it will be an event with also the already qualified specialist going to false the overall result, especially for those who only rely one 1 single very good special discipline and try to limit the damage in the other 2...
