So proud of Anneta Kyridou She dominated the women's single sculls. She has been through so much over the past five years and especially after the last two years. She never gave up though. Pausing her education to fully focus on training, her mother getting cancer, fainting at a training camp, filing a lawsuit against the federation, switching from W2X to LW2X to W1X within the past 20 months, and making it to the Olympics at just 22 years old in a difficult event. She didn't get the chance to qualify at the 2019 World Championships because her partner in W2X got injured at the last moment, and then at the European Qualifying Regatta last month she fell into the water a few minutes before the race. This was basically her one chance to qualify and she did amazing. Greece now being represented in Tokyo in the women's single sculls for the first time since 1996 I think.

Seeing how happy and relieved all these people are that they have qualified, I really hope these olympics will not be cancelled.

the brutal fuck is happening to 15 players tested positive before the departure yesterday... They had to select alternate players, they travelled to Riga with only 23 players and without bigger stars, for example the goalie Damiano Clara has 16 years ! They had to remove from the roster players like Andreas Bernard, Gianluca Vallini , Marco De Filippo, Jan Pavlu, Ivan Tauferer, Luca Zanatta, D. Kostner, Morini, Insam, M. Marcheti, Alberga, Mantiger, Traversa, S. Kostner, Ramoser and Lembacher Jesus christ. RIP Italy

I am super happy for M2x .... Jakub Podrazil wanted to compete in M2x alongside Ondřej Synek (3 times Olympic medalist in M1x) but after unsuccessful ECH 2021 they broke up. So Podrazil made a crew with Jan Cincibuch who is "the second" single sculls competitor in Czech. Rowing together for less than a month, they successfully made it to Tokyo. That is really incredible story. Nobody would believe they would make if they asked when they started. Really great job!

Pretty impressed with the results. Not one person thought any boat would qualify, but I was expecting all 3 to do so. 2 of the 3 boats (m4 and m1x) had never raced internationally in a senior event till this competition. Both boats were competitive here and perhaps can be outside medal chances. Men's rowing in Canada was a disaster after Rio... and to qualify 4 out of 7 boats (only 2 in Rio) is a testament to the future of the sport here.

Meni je ok sto idu Strahinja (jel defunitivno izabran? mislim da je posledica tog "predstojeceg" izbora ovo B finale) i Milica koju su se pokazali konkurentnim na poslednjem Sp Bojan mislim da bi svakako osvojio kvotu na finalnim kvalifikacijama, ovde su dosta staze 8. i 9. bile favorizivame zao mi je sto se Bilja povredila, eto tu nas nije htelo Tomicevic i Zoric su imali svoju sansu i nisu iskoristli, sta je posredi znaju oni sami ostali svakako nemaju kvalitet tako da nemamo mnogo za cim da zalimo ranije su nam isli bolje dvosedi, sad jednosedi i tu je razlika u broju takmicara, ali sto se konkurentnosti posada tice manje vise broj je isti

Sto se mene tice moze i jedna kvota ali da bude medalja u Riu sem k2 niko nije bio ni blizu medalje pa cak ni finala

Franko Grgić, Marin Mogic 400m i 800m slobodno Nikola Miljenic 50m i 100m slobodno i delfin Matea Sumajstorcic i Nika Spehar 400m, 800m i 1500m slobodno Klara Bošnjak 800m i 1500m slobodno Iva Hristo 800 slobodno i 200 delfin Ana Blažević 100m i 200m prsno Ema Rajić 50m i 100m prsno Hrvatska je prijavljena za 4x200m mušku štafetu iako mi nije jasno ko bi to trebao plivati. zanimljivo da Mogic i Grgić neće plivati 1500m, Mogic još ganja normu na 800m. 400m je vjerovatno vise za zagrijavanje. Ali ovo mi izgleda vise kao pripreme kod njih dvojice. treba vidjet koliko mogu Miljenic i Rajić ali teško ce do A norme. Za ostale vazi poboljšati osobni a mozda netko i iznenadi. zanimljivo da nedostaje par “Amerikanaca” koje sam očekivao u sastavu: Ana Herceg, Ognjen Maric i Marin Ercegovic. Blaskovic je ozljedjen, Obrovac vjerovatno isto. Lončar je prestao plivat.
