my pick would be Lavreysen (men*) and the Short Track Relay team (teams).

among the women is too close to call...I'd give it to all 3 because they are simply amazing in their respective discipline.

 

*F1 is not (only) a men's affair, technology is too decisive, therefore I consider motorsports ineligible (moreover, I don't like Verstappen and even less the Red Bull team).

Exactly my picks really, including the indecision on the womens award.

 

I'd personally give the womens award to Femke Bol, because I feel like her achievements and media presence this year have simply been more memorable and achieved in a far more competitive sport than speed skating, short track or women's road cycling. Though I completely understand the jury had to go for multiple Olympic gold and grand tour winners over a global silver medal and multiple European winner.

As for the men, I'm doubting between Verstappen and Lavreysen. Verstappen's performances without a doubt have way more impact, but Lavreysen is better for the medal counter, so hard to make a choice there.
