Swimming at the Aquatics WA World Championships 2023

Recommended Posts

I knew USA were going to underperform on their usual performance, but damn things are looking bleak. :yikes: Their chances of winning the medal table have been heavily reduced. They have very, very good swimmers, but for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, there is always some other superstar that wins the race. Usually the USofA were the ones with the big superstars. :d

Interesting that the US only won 3 golds in olympic disciplines so far and 2 of them could have very well only been minor medals.

Men's 100 back: Ceccon definitely could have won gold instead of Murphy

Women's 200 IM: McIntosh didn't compete and McKeown got disqualified.

I think that they could get to 8 golds in olympic disciplines, but i don't see them getting to 10+ golds.

:THA currently in a Olympic qualifying position in the men's 4x200m relay :p

It likely won't last going into the 2024 World Championships.

That can make things interesting on the Paris overall Olympic medal table. If they aren't dominant in swimming, they are vulnerable, especially if China wins some of those swimming gold medals that they drop.

I thinks it will be very different next year. Different time zone + the american talents will all be more mature. I think both China and Australia will clearly drop off next year.
