All around great finishes tonight for Canada athletics. Bishop and the women's 4x400 relay 4th, and Ahmed 5th before being disqualified.

Also means we will see like 50%+ of the funding going to swimming and athletics for the next quad.

Canoeing is the biggest loser here, 3 to 0 medals. 

 

The RBC Olympian program is apparently identifying the next rowers and canoeists, and it found the next gem in athletics (Pierce LePage in decathlon).

Looking at the medalists only Fillion/Benefito, Caldwell and Penderel are likely not to be back for 2020. The future looks bright!

 Boy am I excited for 2020. Potential for multiple golds from DeGrasse and Oleksiak, canoeing and Brooke Henderson, not to mention up and coming stars waiting in the wings.
