I'll post my predictions sometime in Mid June when psych sheets for US trials come out.

 

As of now, I would expect around 80% of the names above to make the Olympic team. Of course the big stars like Ledecky, Smith, Douglass, Finke, Murphy, etc. should have no problem qualifying. However, given the depth that the US has, the rapid progression of many of their young talents and a lot of spots being wide open (2nd spot in men's 200 back, women's 200 fly, women's long distance for example), I would expect a few new names on the Olympic team. And of course, as you mentioned, Dressel's status will have to be monitored closely. He's competing this upcoming weekend at a the Pro Swim Series so we'll get a better idea of his progression their.

Their OC does not recognize their swimming federation (which was started by their female swimmer who is from Canada). They had a new athlete here as well so maybe?

Italian championship begins tomorrow in Stadio del nuoto, Riccione. Heats start at 10:00 local time (first day at 10:15) and finals start at 17:30 local time.
