Just a sidenote, because why not: party in Brazilian biathlon as well today, since they're good friends with the Swedes, so, that's more happy people :d

Due to Mattias Nilsson?

Because Östersund was their European 'base' until last season, and Tobias Torgersen (and Mattias as well, yes) was the coach of the Swedish IBU Cup team, which had the Brazilians basically as a part of them (like sharing wax/dressing cabins at the competitions, Torgersen being their guy at the team captain's meeting and so on). And because of all that they're friends with Samuelsson among others :)

This connection with Torgersen (a genuinely nice guy, who taught them so, so much) is also why I was so much hoping for Poland to medal in the women's relay, since the switched to the Polish women's team last summer :p

4 golds for Sweden in biathlon and alpine skiing ... one of the biggest overperformances in olympic history for sure. The fact that they train under very windy conditions in Östersund surely helped today, in the end they won it at the shooting range. Sad that both races were heavily influenced by the conditions, thats not what you would hope for athletes who trained very hard for 4 years. Anyway ... Pichler seems to be doing a lot of good things over there, considering where swedish biathlon was only a couple of years ago. I think with the retirement of Gerald Hönig, it would be the perfect time to bring Pichler home, Germany really needs him.
