Yes, I am really happy, all our athletes truely deserved their medals:
- Tina Trstenjak was heavilly injured before Olympics 
- Ana Velenšek also had some problems with injured knee
- Vasilij Žbogar took medal in one of toughest sailing classes at age of 40
- Peter Kauzer really mentally prepared well after missing medals on previou two occasions.
 
Congrats to your athletes, we already know canoe is your speciality, now even on flat water. I was really glad for Matej Toth, I know you watch race walk really closely.

dareza here. lol. When I left forum. Serbian athetes showed potential @DaniSRB thanks for great time on facebook. It was crazy.
 
*8 at then end. I was pessimistic  Well, first part of the Games were disaster for Serbian team. In second we were almost pefect.

*We had 4 teams and we won 4 medals. Just wow.  Impressive really. We are born for team sports, it is now absolutely clear. Medal in volleyball is so special fo me. I was convinced that these girls finally show potential. Also two medals in basketball.  And finally gold in waterpolo. Domination. They won all in last 3 years.

*Medal in athletics is also special. Im also happy for other medals (especially for Tijana in taekwondo. Just wow, that girl is huge talent).

*But our canoeing and shooitng team. So sad.

*And FINALLY , out of 103 Serbian athletes, 53 will go home with medal. More than a half.

I can't believe I'm feeling bad for an "Azeri", but damn, Sotomayor got robbed. Ridiculous.

I don´t agree. at first I thought the same, and was very sceptical about..and I absolutely ignored the first 3 days of mens competition,.. but then somehow I started to watch the 4th mens day, mainly because nothing else started yet this morning and I must say that I liked the competition very much, It catched me strongly and I tried to follow the race the whole day as much as possible, even I watched the last 4 holes in integrality and the fight for gold between Stenson and Rose was very exciting.
ofc that only my opinion but I loved it much and now I´m for to maintain this sport under the 5 rings

youre welcome. Hungary did very well in Rio..well maybe except mens Canoeing...I am also very sorry for your water polo..especially the womens team, they are definitely one of the unluckiest team in the history of the olympics...hope in Tokyo you´ll finally win this medal.

hckosice: I think many in Hungary have mixed feelings about Rio. (I mean the whole not only canoe kayak) On one hand, amazing performance from the 2 three-time champions (Kozak and Hosszu) and the fencing team (2 G 1 S 1 B), some positive surprises like the young swimmer Kenderesi (winning bronze medal in his first olympics after beating Phelps in the heats and semifinal) or the shot putter Anita Marton (first womens medal in athletics since 1968)
On the other hand:
- handball team did not qualify (neither W nor M)
- HUN swim team was about 35 strong, and many strong names who very expected to have a good performance (at least IV-V-VI place) did not even make it to the final, along them 2012 champion Daniel Gyurta
- Disappointing performance of the judo team (along with some referee "mis-judgement")
- Disappointing performance of the wrestling team (along with open _cheating_ by one of the referee's on a HU bronze match)
- Disappointing performance of the mens waterpolo team (for the second olympics V/VI place)
- Disappointing performance of the mens canoe-kayak team (see above)
+ this is not directly sports related: absolutely sub-par commentators on Hungarian public TV covering the OG, with exception of athletics and fencing and a few other disciplines. The guy who covered canoe-kayak sometimes had no clue about what is happening on the track...
 
But I personally would like congratulate to all Hungarian athletes who had a good performance at Rio, no matter what place or medal or whatever!

I have to say it's not a surprise. London: 8g, 5s, 2b, same as in Athens. Sidney: 8g, 6s, 3b. Beijing was a bit weaker (3g, 5s, 2b). So Hungary is almost always around the top ten on the medal table. 

Del Real  Still, he did great, improving his qualification mark and finishing in fourth place. Probably the biggest surprise of the Mexican delegation
 
Hope the private sector supports him, so he can be again in the final in Tokyo 2020

Matej is absolutely amazing !  I´m so happy he managed to keep all the pressure as he was clearly the biggest favorite for gold here, at least in Slovakia It was a cruel and exciting race, I lost some 10 years today just watching it, even in our TV his coach said : "peoples don´t be afraid, Matej is doing his tactics perfectl, He´ll start the race in 40th kilometer." so we were waiting this and he did it oh dear I do not know what to say more...I´m so happy, so so happy..I wanted this athletics medal so much...and finally we have it and it´s a gold ..I can´t believe it. Absolutely awesome. Congrats Matej, current world champion and olympic champion
