Seriously? You play well again and then you fuck it up like this. How stupid was this by Mascherano. It wasn't a clear penalty but don't even give the referee the chance to interpret something as a foul

I don't think Ronaldo's foul was a red card. On the camera perspective they showed most it looked worse than on the others. Still if the referee had immediately shown him a red card I would have said it's a reasonable decision. A hard one but reasonable. What shocked me is that the VAR said it was red as by no means this was a 100% clear decision and that's what VAR is for. To stick with Portugal, Pepe gets Diego Costas elbow in his face and VAR says it wasn't even a clear foul and then this foul which was worse but not by a lot is a clear red card? I know the on field referee didn't agree as well but the fact that he even got the call by the VAR means the VAR would have given Ronaldo red.

What a horrible game by Portugal. As I'm rooting for them I'm super angry about the fact that iran scored the equalizer as that doesn't only mean they play Uruguay next but that they will be in the generally probably much harder half of the bracket. Ronaldo was pretty disappointing but I also have to say that the people who say he lost Portugal the three points with the missed penalty are talking rubbish. If he doesn't make his great dribbling Portugal doesn't get a penalty in the first place

I didn't watch Colombia's first game but they play beautifully today. Really hope they'll make it to the round of 16

I wonder, has Kane even touched the ball a fifth time in this tournament
-
That really shouldn't have been a penalty imo

VAR should give Otamendi red

Modric

I'd really like to see Dybala now

This is funny on so many levels

Does the referee know what a yellow card is?

Unconfirmed reports by Fox Sports are claiming that Maxi MEZA will start for Argentina ahead of Cristian PAVON.
It’s no secret that coach Jorge SAMPAOLI will make changes for Argentina’s second group stage match against Croatia but one of the main question marks was which of Maxi MEZA or Cristian PAVON would start. With Angel DI MARIA out of the starting eleven, one of the two are expected to start.
However, per Fox Sports, Maxi MEZA will get the nod ahead of the Boca Juniors man. Here’s what they claim is the starting line-up:
CABALLERO; MERCADO, OTAMENDI, TAGLIAFICO, SALVIO, ENZO, MASCHERANO, ACUNA; MESSI, MEZA, AGUERO

If Argentina, a team offensively stacked with superstars, only has two superstars in their starting formation you just gotta wonder what on earth that manager is doing. I get that many think you should play the players who fit into your system and not the ones with the bigger market value but that maybe counts if you play a 30M$ instead of a 50M$ Player, not a 10M$ instead of a 100M$ player. If this is the case you are playing the wrong system

Everyone should be pleased when justice prevails.
In other news, today a brand new Italian stage race (the Adriatica Ionica Race) is starting. The organizers plan to expand this race to all the Adriatic-Ionic countries (from Italy to Greece) in a few years.
Would be really cool if that plan becomes reality. Many of the countries which would be crossed in such a race don't get much attention in the cycling world.
Anyway todays first stage once again showed that TTT's have no place in small stage races such as this. Ciccone basically lost all chances to win because of this stupidity. If you want to give to give climbers a disadvantage so badly make an ITT not a TTT

Did nobody tell Ronaldo there is a VAR?
-
I'm really starting to think Portugal won't win
-
Yes yes yes. First win for Africa
-
Still, this is "only" Senegal. Poland could still score two goals.
Anyway, I have my doubts that either of the two will progress to the round of 16
-
What a goal
-
On another note, that goal from Ronaldo was super important. They can now probably afford a tie against Iran or Morocco which means they don't have the pressure to play super offensively right from the beginning and we've seen in the euro 2016 that they often struggle against very defensive teams. Moreover they now have the chance to win the group which would mean they can could play against, probably Russia and then Argentina. That's way easier than Uruguay and France which is the likely path for the team getting 2nd
