  1. Right, the Dutch women need Belarus to beat Estonia....and by scoring no more than 17 points....and while not letting Estonia score more than 12 points...
  2. Horrible crash in Moto3 qualifying today, where Jason Dupasquier crashed off his bike and got hit head-on by Ayumu Sasaki, who could in no way have avoided him. Apparently Jeremy Alcoba was involved as well, he and Sasaki walked away, sort of, but Dupasquier is in critical condition..
  3. Impressive win by Caruso, no problems for Bernal.
  4. Bardet is parking the bike Now it's waiting for the inevitable attack by Yates....but he too cracks.
  5. Bardet is dying in Caruso's wheel....where on earth is Caruso pulling these weeks from all of a sudden?
  6. Once again Dani Martinez is the strongest on the climb.
  7. Very much deserved tap on the shoulders of Bilbao there by Caruso. What a ride.
  8. The road is a little wet and the descent a tad tricky, but oddly it's not been neutralized....
  9. Amateur, Indy de Vroome can easily beat that in two sets.
  10. Yep. Instead of an epic shot put showdown like in Doha 2019, we can have something where (theoretically) a bunch of athletes have five 22m+ attempts, after which the top-3 looks like this: win with 21.10m, second with 20.40m and third with an X. It is really a very innovative way to absolutely kill the whole tension a field event can have..
  11. Earlier Sanne van Dijke was picked as the Dutch representative in the -70kg category, after her European title. Kim Polling went to the courts, as is the unfortunate tradition in Dutch judo, and yesterday heard that she will not be awared the ticket, it remains with Van Dijke. Too bad Polling has been acting as such an incredibly sore loser, Van Dijke was better when it mattered most, end of story. Polling's fans sort of disagree and are spamming social media with bullshit about how Van Dijke is an 'unknown' and such. Sure, she's less famous (although let's face it, judo is small and most people don't really know Polling neither), but she did win her second European title this year and got two silvers in between - three straight finals. She's not an obscure athlete.
  12. It's not like we didn't know it yet, but it is most excellent to finally have confirmation that Brazil does indeed get two women's quotas https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/v2/quota/list/owg/cc/2022 Interestingly, our Totallympian is the only one of the women with a realistic shot to go to Beijing who as of right now is eligible to start in the sprint. https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/v2/quota/eligibility/owg/cc/2022?nation=BRA&gender=W&event=DI&page=1
  13. I know we shouldn't expect much, but still I can't believe how poorly the technical events are being shown (or mostly, not shown), especially in this new format
  14. Yates needs to get a move on if he wants to do something significant..
  15. Why? It's pretty funny how people are getting batshit mad (not like "oh this is annoying", but absolutely mad) Although yeah, wouldn't be missed I guess. Luckily we have the Ignore function, which I assume everyone who is annoyed by this user is using because they don't want to see his posts..
  16. I have no idea, it's hard to really find the time for it nowadays...you know, having an actual job and such And I will absolutely need a lot of help from people here again, like five years ago, where a whole lot of users provided incredibly valuable help in coming up with the percentages per event (as I'm sure you remember in the case of equestrian, for example). We could try to make it sort of a team effort somewhere, ending up with one big list of percentages we all at least sort of agree on..
  17. How surprising. The Netherlands is good at a sport, it becomes Olympic, and goodbye Netherlands
  18. Which is impossible for me: 1. I don't know nearly enough about all those sports to make good estimates of who has which chances from the top down 2. I don't have nearly enough time to calculate all the totals and percentages and so on
  19. Yeah but is it certain yet who will compete? Feels like that can change every week, so I'll wait and see
  20. Sadly I haven't gotten around to making my medal table yet and obviously one can't predict that based on previous Olympics, so can't answer those statements I'd go with number 6 (apart from the 'first' part of course, that was Perez as our Slovak friend mentioned), but with the weird weightlifting stuff recently I have no idea who she'll compete against so I don't dare to say this yet
  21. Apparently they are still looking for an alternative though, including Copenhagen..
  22. Wow. I believe this is the exact post one would find in the dictionary under 'choke'
  23. We're going to be hard-pressed to find a larger lose-lose situation in the world of sports indeed..
