  1. I have PM's from New Zealand, Canada, Malta and Slovenia, I'm assuming/hoping they contain votes but will look when I'm with my personal laptop (soon)
  2. Choosing Ackermann and Bennett for this Oh my, the failure is too big.
  3. I should have spent more than just a minute looking at the profile before making my predictions, completely missed it's more of an uphill finish than a sprint finish Today would have been a perfect day to pick Aranburu or something..
  4. Wait, his father accused him of fraud? And 80% of Jordan's people are born in Palestine? I am a little confused but very interested
  5. Ireen Wüst finished outside of the 1500m medals at the Dutch championships just now, the first time she's not on the podium since 2004 (!).
  6. Earthquake near the Turkish coast, with already a worrying amount of reports of buildings collapsed in Izmir, flooding (from a tsunami) in towns around and heavy damage on some Greek islands as well.
  7. One would hope so for her, since surely she'll have to use those mostly national races to qualify for the IBU Cup team
  8. It'd be a little unfair to many others if she would be...let her qualify for a spot in the IBU Cup team and there show what she can do in an international field.
  9. Two weeks from today! https://sesongstartskiskyting.no/

  11. Nah, he yells the bullshit on your computer and phone screens, Tucker Carlson yells it on your TV, minor and only meaningful difference
  12. Delegation location 7 - Kootwijk We're back in the real vicinity of Apeldoorn, a few kilometers to the west. In between the forests and the open plains is the little village of Kootwijk, one of not much meaning, as shown by it's number of only 265 inhabitants, including the oldest one, the youngest one and a full 263 people in between. Kootwijk has some worthy mentions though, starting a little to the south at the Kootwijkerzand. This is the largest area of 'stuifzand' in Western Europe, with 'stuifzand' being the Dutch word for sand that's exclusively moved around by wind and rain. This is a fairly rare sight in modern-day Europe and the Kootwijkerzand is the largest such area in all of Western Europe. More than 4500 years ago people already lived here, farms have been built almost two thousand years ago and from the year 700 on there was a village where now there is sand. A small part of the impressive Kootwijkerzand, an ideal place to to walk around in peace - either together or alone Kootwijk is also the namesake for the even smaller nearby village of Radio Kootwijk, named after, you guessed it, a shortwave radio transmitter. This was built in the early 20th century in order to streamline communications with the Dutch East Indies, nowadays of course being Indonesia. At the Malabar mountain there was a similar transmitter/receiver stationed in between two mountain walls, the valley of which happened to have been aimed exactly towards Kootwijk. People worked at Radio Kootwijk's station, hence a small - nowadays nearly uninhabited - village arose. The transmitter's buildings still stand tall in the open lands. Radio Kootwijk's transmitter buildings - keep in mind there were four huge transmitter towers positioned in a large square around it, they're gone Lastly Kootwijk was the location of a darker moment: on 23 August 1950 a F3 or F4 tornado hit the Veluwe, an insanely rare thing in this part of the world. Kootwijk was hit, as well as some other towns mostly to the west of Apeldoorn, but due to the sparse population the personal damage stayed limited to one badly injured person. Delegations in Kootwijk Indonesia Egypt Slovenia
  13. Isn't Tucker Carlson that guy yelling all kinds of bullshit onto the TV screens after thorough fact-checking?
  14. A total of 24 nations have now voted and Canada, Egypt, Greece, India, Mexico, Slovenia and Tunisia have said they'll vote in time and there's no problem. Ireland's representative is active/online as always, so I'm assuming that'll be fine, and our New Zealand friend has posted he's almost there in terms of getting his list right. All of this means only Germany (@catgamer) and Malta (@Glen) are somewhat worrying at the moment.
  15. Just to clarify, you did count Ackermann as the winner, correct? You know, since Bennett got DQ'ed.
  16. Pat The King of Hypocrisy Lefevere is mad. Don Pat's reaction alone makes the DQ a right decision already.
  17. And back to someone else having a chance for their 100th GT stage win, since Bennett has been relegated due to pretending to be a battering ram and Ackermann wins it after all.
  18. And Bennett with the win, Mareczko sprinting like a madman and doing 500 meters extra for no reason.
  19. Well yeah, I don't think any sane person disagrees that cutting throats and such has to be stopped immdiately Of course the usual far-right politicians have already used the opportunity to yell their 'Kick Islam and everything around it out of Europe' default stuff.
  20. And in Lyon an Afghan man was arrested after threatening people with a large knife, while in another French city (I forgot where) someone threatened to attack police officers with a knife. What a day, somehow it feels like a matter of time to have something much bigger than this coming up again.
  21. Wind could have made it interesting today, but alas, that was not to be. Favourite Pascal Ackermann already was involved in a crash today, so he might not be the favourite anymore. We'll see.
  22. Every night I print the current Excel sheet, delete it from my laptop with a full wipe of my harddisks and factory reset of my laptop and bring the printout to an undisclosed location in which it's kept safe in a triple-locked vault.
  23. And when provoked, don't slit someone's throat. Get a life.
