  1. So.... apparently, the Games have started And, to the surprise of no one, the coverage so far is the worst And by the worst, I really mean the worst The official website is useless (and you can't find it on google...), as the official FIRS one, results are almost impossible to find online, and the FIRS TV has nothing... Hoppefully, starting with the day after tomorow, this should have some live coverage, but in the meantime, we are left in the dark...
  2. http://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1054710/pyeongchang-2018-president-blames-international-companies-for-poor-ticket-sales
  3. Well, there is an expansion planned. Hoppefully, it will go according to plans That would be some iconic stadium right here, albeit still small for a world championship (30K)
  4. Urban, too. Don't forget about urban canoe.
  5. Considering IOC last warnings regarding the future of the sport. I don't think they can take the easy way.
  6. The question remains : why the IOC is not acting They don't need amateur boxing, they could easely pressure AIBA to have its house in order just like they're doing with weightlifting, or even better, propelling a new organisation to run the sport. Yet, nothing.
  7. Toping WL first round. The difference between then and now lying mostly on Boyer.
  8. Ah yeah, tha A1GP, now that you mentioning it (and that I wikepedia it), I remember now By team, I didn't specifically mean teamsport, just something with more than two persons competeting in.
  9. Have you had any team world/continental championship since the last jumping title in 2001 ?(and no the Six Nations or the AFL International Cup doesn''t count ) Edit: as far as France is concerned, we will nd up this equestrian championships with 0 medals. And yet, it feels like it's the best thing that could ever happen post rio succeses and looking to Tokyo.
  10. That doesn't sound likely. Germany-France for the quarters seems almost like a lock.
  11. Boyer and Lyneel really costed us the match. Still, playing as bad as we did, we still reach to get one point out of it. I'm still very confident for the rest of the competition.
  12. No, it's over as far as I'm concerned. I get what I wanted...
  13. Belgium has been our favorite nemesis lately.
  14. Finally a french medal with Koumba Larroque Just turned 19 yo, first senior WC, huge media attention, drawned with the Rio gold medallist at first round and yet, she delivered
  15. Steackhouse on the road joke, too obvious ?
  16. And obviously, hero of yesterday is losing today against much lesser ranked opponent. How depressingly not surprising that is. Edit: Leverdez finally nailed it.
  17. And fark, that's it four our medal chance today I guess, it's only left to Larroque to save the nation tomorrow.
  18. IIRC, Soviet Union didn't seend any delegation in any international sports competition in the immediate after war. Capitalist sports and all that.
  19. Thank you, but I allready have enough on Germany (from 2001 and onward), likewise with most of western european countries (Spain, Italy,Portugal, The Netherlands, etc.) Sadly, once you go east, datas seem a lot less available (my complete lack of language skills doesn't help neither). I might compile the numbers at some point and make a thread out of it, but I would like more large nations before that (Poland, Russia, etc.) For anyone interested, there are 18,747 wrestlers in France, a bit less than a few years ago, but about twice the number of the 90's. Only 75% of them will be UWW wrestlers though.
  20. Ullevi stadium mignt not have been the brightest idea.
  21. Yes, I realize that. Recently I've been trying to look for precise numbers of federation members around the world, but I often been left empty. Thank you for your time anyway.
  22. I think, they implied UWW wrestlers. Is there a database somewhere with the number of registered members by federation in you country ?
  23. Yesterday, on french TV, it was said there is one million wrestlers in Iran. @MHSN and others, is there any truth in that number ?
