Olympic Champion Kristina Vogel had an accident during Training and is seriously injoured. Details are not known, but it's supposed to be an injury at the spinal. The national Coach was quoted, that they are "very worried".

Season 5 was awesome, brought new life to the show after the slump in 4. It's good know that show can still have fresh storylines, even if we had to lose Tom in the process. Reds new (real) daughter is the bomb, can't wait to see more of her, she is already better than Liz

the only thing I can add it's that Tuba Yakan (TUR) is one of the finalists, since she was the girl who defeated Cardin in the early rounds (and the Spaniard Osorio ended up in 5th place, since she lost to Cardin in the bronze medal bout)...
no other news about Karate (just that Italy lost in round #1 against Greece in the women's -50kg)...

Russia dominated from start to (almost) finish...
France were their closest rivals, but really far behind...but still, they were competitive and won medals in almost every discipline, which is more than expected...
Italy end up 3rd in the medal table despite the worst performance at a global championship since a very long while...but I hope this has been just a bad week, otherwise it would be scary in perspective...
6 different Nations won at least 1 Gold medal (which would be good, if only Russia didn't get Gold in half of the scheduled events) and 10 Countries are present in the overall medal table (which is not good...in recent years we often had more than that)...

I mean...it was a nice moment of joy (until that shameful semifinal match against ARG) also for me and most Italian people...but, apart for that, we can't say that in general it was the most successful WC ever...
