  9. yes, sure but I think it will affect more the men rather than the women, because of their style of racing (the men are way more "tactical", the women are definitely more instinctive and rarely tactics are a factor in the final kms of the NT-based races)
  10. here it's all on Eurosport/Discovery+ it might well be the same in many European Countries
  11. I still think that the Paris road race will be dominated by a sprinter in the end, the Montmartre climb is too far away from home to build a big gap... the problem is only the small number of riders in each team, but in the women's race I think the top sprint specialists are so good overall that they will be able to fight for the gold medal among the men, it should be a different beast, as it's impossible to take a pure sprinter home with only 3/4 riders per team
  12. if someone were applying the rules, you'd be crying in Guantanamo for at least 10 years now
  13. WTF! Elisa Balsamo! lucky she's only got a broken nose and a concussion, it could have been a lot worse unfortunately, this injury will give her a lot of troubles in the remainder of the season and most likely it will cost more than 1 Olympic medal between road and track (even if she'll be able to participate to the Games, she won't be in the best shape of her life for sure) this is the video of Today's crash at the Vuelta Burgos https://x.com/MatMitchell30/status/1791101368276492492
  14. @Biathlonfan in Savona, there was also Dovilè Kilty at the start of the women's Triple Jump she ended up in in 5th place with 13.68m (windy, +2.2)
  15. 44.46 his time ____________________ to complete the fest in Savona, Daniele Inzoli jumped 7.90m (wind +1.4) in the men's LJ, which is the new Under-16 world best (previously held by the Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Maykel Massò with 7.85) here's Leo Fabbri's 22.95m put video https://www.facebook.com/fidal.it/videos/747722894101607/ and this is Furlani's 8.36m jump https://www.facebook.com/fidal.it/videos/2159948557724430/ Savona Meet full results https://www.fidal.it/risultati/2024/COD11404/Risultati/IndexRisultatiPerGara.html
  16. Patta ran a decent heat, but got slightly injured (harmstring) in the last few meters and therefore had to miss the final hopefully, it's just a minor thing, but in the interview he did look a bit worried
  17. and Mattia Furlani strikes again! new Junior World Record in the men's LJ for him: 8.36m (wind +0.1)
  18. Azu won the men's 100m dash in 10.08, meanwhile Treyvon Brommel got injured (groin) in the same race
  19. 2 new National Records in Savona despite a cold and rainy day, Zeynab Dosso improved the women's 100m NR to 11.02 (+0.9 wind), meanwhile Leonardo Fabbri in the men's Shot Put reached the 22.95m mark (in a series with 4 puts beyond 22m...he also recorded a 22.67 and a 22.45) and now it's Mattia Furlani's moment in the men's Long Jump (it has stopped raining, the runway should be enough dry to enjoy some very long jumps)
  20. sorry, I read the previous post too late...I was talking of the European Tournament format
  21. there's a group stage, top 2 in each group advance to the knockout stage #1 top 2 in the first knockout stage are qualified to the OGs, then all the participants to the knockout stage #1 not qualified to the Games will be divided into 2 tournaments of the knockout stage #2 the winner of these 2 additional tournaments will qualify to the Olympic Games, meanwhile the runner-ups will face each other for the last remaining spot
  22. great news! Tomorrow in Athens at the Filathlitikos Kallitheas International Jumping Meeting, Larissa Iapichino will make her outdoor debut in 2024 ____________________ moreover, always Tomorrow, on the Italian TV (also online on Raiplay, most likely with Italian VPN), the Savona International Meet is scheduled at 3.45 p.m. CET with many Italian and International good athletes on stage (shot putter Leonardo Fabbri above all) meet preview (in Italian, but google is always helping us ) https://www.oasport.it/2024/05/atletica-meeting-di-savona-stellare-furlani-e-fabbri-vogliono-volare-debuttano-simonelli-e-dosso-ce-sibilio/ TV/online broadcast link https://www.raiplay.it/guidatv?channel=rai-sport&date=15-05-2024 ______________________________ more news... 100m Olympic Champion Marcell Jacobs will start the Diamond League meet in Oslo he's set to face, among others, his arch-rival Fred Kerley
