I don't actually play Pokémon Go, but I think it's a great concept. It gets people outside and exercising and also makes them interact with others. It's been amazing in the USA, especially with some of the racial tensions we have going on here.

I actually read a very heartbreaking article by a black guy saying how he fears playing the game might get him killed. Daunting stuff.

    wait..it´s not official ?

and here is this article of their NOC saying something more ? http://www.coe.org.ec/index.php/noticias/183-noticias-coe/2023-abanderamiento-banco-del-pacifico-marco-la-despedida-de-la-delegacion-tricolor-a-los-juegos-olimpicos-rio-2016

    thanks for the answer  :)

Ok. That's clearer. Preciado is called "second flagbearer" (or junior, if you must) and Chocho is still "first"/senior. He received it because of Chocho's ausence but Chocho should still be flagbearer at the parade of nations.

    EDIT: Way slower, lol

I was going to say the same lol

Though I think it sort of implies sth like "if you aren't for this ceremony then no thanks you won't be flagbearer". Also in the video Preciado seems happy as if he knows he is going to be in the ceremony too.

Yeah. It's very weird. It kinda makes you think something happened behind curtains, but I agree it likely means Preciado is the flagbearer.

(According to the article, Andres Chocho is getting ready for his final training phase in Brazil(?)) >> need Spanish-speaking members to confirm

What a frustrating ambiguous article. Yes, it says Chocho couldn't make it to the ceremony to recieve the flag and Preciado is flagbearer but says nothing about the actual opening ceremony.

They could simply express their concern or something similar. I maintain it's not their duty to call for WADA/IOC action and specially not before WADA made the report public.

It's like the danish football federation would have called for the ban of italian football federation after the Calciopoli scandal for exemple. They are not entitled to do so. Simply as that.

It's a matter that affects them. Their clean athletes would risk losing medals and all their hard work to cheaters. They have every right to say that'd be unacceptable.

Peru Please !!!!!.........................we peruvians are proud of our potato ...................................................The first permanent potato patches in North America were established in 1719, most likely near Londonderry (Derry), NH, by Scotch-Irish immigrants.  From there, the crop spread across the country.

By the way before people from US  says they invented the chips ( lays or whatever they call them  ....interesting name ) ............................................. The earliest known recipe for potato chips is in William Kitchiner's 1822 cookbook The Cook's Oracle, a bestseller in England and the United States; its recipe for "Potatoes fried in Slices or Shavings" reads "peel large potatoes, slice them about a quarter of an inch thick, or cut them in shavings round and round, as you would peel a lemon; dry them well in a clean cloth, and fry them in lard or dripping".   .................we colonial brishers call them crisps ................

    Lays is just a brand.

Do you really believe that if he would have found changed test of someone of top athletes, he wouldn't say about that? If he gave the names privately just to someone, where are the confirmations of it from these "recievers"? There were no words about it.

It's a possibility. He said his mandate was just to investigate and the rest is up to the IOC. That could (and should) include outing the medalists involved. But we'll know more in the upcoming days, hopefully.

That picture can be found in the report. How did they count it? Maybe, we can know just couple of names? When were these tests covered? Just something more than Chivas and FSB; people who did the report make FSB at first so clever to think of all that strategy, and after that so stupid to not to clean out all the possible proofs and let Rodchenkov to go out to the USA(if you didn't know, any person except the highest people in Russia who get the access to all secret deals is not allowed to go out of the country).

There must be legal reasons to not name them publicly. You'd expect McLaren to give the names privately to WADA, IOC and Russia.

There are sports that don't have their act together at all and have been in the Olympics for decades now (boxing, weightlifting, to name just two). I think it would be quite unfair to not give golf a real chance. And no, a real chance is not judging after one time and saying it should be kicked out.

I mentioned Tokyo, didn't I? That should be more than enough. If after two games the contempt remains those 120 quotas should be put to better use.

But well, of course I'm serious that it's clearly too early to judge already :p

They should give it 2-3 Olympic cycles and then evaluate how it's going. Tennis started like crap and nowadays Murray withdraws from an ATP tournament to prepare the Olympics.

With so many sports knocking on the door that would send their best, 2-3 cycles seem like too much to see if they get their act together. But they should go to Tokyo at least, even in only to be close to "the stuff that matters".

What do we do with team sports then? we allow only players that perform outside of Russia? that is complex.

If they can form a team with them, sure. Otherwise, too bad but the priority should be protecting the athletes that's worked their ass off for 4 years from losing a deserving medal to tools of Putin's vanity.

The Chilean federation is a shame, for a long time there are internal problems of different areas... The choice of the court was a tremendous mistake. I don't know why they had the stupid idea of hosting the matches in Iquique.

Our players were extremely embarrassed by the situation, but... it's done :d what more can we do? :wall:

The Colombian fed is gonna complain about the referee but I don't see the point, tbh. Chile won, and won well (the shitty conditions played against both sides), but I don't blame Giraldo for giving up the pretense this wasn't a farce. Anyway, good luck in the playoffs.

For the simple reason of respect his country and companions, I think.

The same the Chilean federation and the referee didn't have making them play in such deplorable conditions?
