  1. Yes they have. Ten countries will participate: we already know six of them. China, South Africa and two out of will complete the field.
  2. Only 2 tickets left at the World OQT. Hungary, Netherlands, Italy and Greece will fight for it. Italy plays at home and will have the FINA (and referees) on their side again, like 8 years ago, when Netherlands were robbed in playoff-match against Italy. Also in Triëst. Unfortunately South Africa decided to send a women's team to the Olympics, although they lose every game with minimal 30 goals difference. Dutch media reported. I predict Italy and Hungary going to the Olympics. If only we had won today against Russia ...

  7. Don't worry. Even if the Dutch team reaches the final against Hungary, they will things completely screw up. Dutch teams and finals ... not a good combination. Semifinals will probably be - and - .

  9. Well, Russia will be eliminated in the first round for sure. They are very weak at the moment and were very lucky with the grouping for the OQT.
  10. Germany really deserved the win today against our girls. Very disappointed though. Volleyball is my favourite sport, unfortunately no Dutch team to cheer for in Tokyo. Good luck Germany in the final!
  11. Have fun Jinzha! I was there wednesday, when played against . You have to cheer loudly, because half of the audience is only clapping their hands when the speaker says to do so. Very annoying to be among fake supporters. It will be hard for Netherlands to grab that last Olympic ticket. All other semifinalists proved to be very strong.
  12. Poland played very impressive! For me they are now the biggest favourites to win this. Too much power and a wonderful setter. But, don't count out Turkey.
  13. Unbelievable France turns the match around. Didn't expect that at all. Winner of Germany-Bulgaria seems the favourite for me tomorrow.
  14. Slovenia destroyes the French team. Didn't really expect that. 2:0 now. Will be a rematch Germany-Slovenia in the final.
  15. Sloetjes won't be back in time, today she didn't play at all, because she was sick. But Meijners on her position was pretty good today! 3:0 against Tomorrow the big clash against Poland!
  16. Netherlands struggled through the first match against , but eventually they won 3:0. Hopefully Sloetjes will find her form back, otherwise it will be difficult against the better opponents.
  17. Well, qualifying started today with a big surprise: Germany wins 3:1 against Turkey. Well, not a 'big' big surprise, because of the likes of Louisa Lippmann. She is a wonderful player and decided the match almost alone.
  18. So, the Netherlands are really underperforming here. Well done Bulgaria today, but we couldn't really make it a competition. France will also win against us (and go through to the semis), so therefore Serbia-Bulgaria will be the deciding match for the second semi-finalspot. In the other group, Slovenia and Germany will be the other seimfinalist. Nice semifinals coming up!

  20. Netherlands beat Slovenia 3:0 today. Despite it was a friendly game, still surprised by our team! I think Slovenia is one of the favourites for the Olympic spot.
  21. Best athlete: Ireen Wüst (speedskating, gold at the Vancouver, Sochi and Pyeongchang Olympics and several World & European Titles Best team: Women's hockeyteam (gold at the London Olympics, silver in Rio, gold in most of the World & European Championships) Other top performers in the 2010's: Sven Kramer (speedskating), Ranomi Kromowidjojo (swimming), women's handballteam, Dorian van Rijsselberghe (sailing), Epke Zonderland (gymnastics), Kirsten Wild (track cycling), Marianne Vos (cycling). Personal sportsmoment of the 2010's: seeing live Wüst winning the gold medal on the 1500 meter in Pyeongchang.
  22. Football W 100% Hockey W 100% Hockey M 100% Handball W 100%; still can't believe Netherlands won the WCh Waterpolo W 80% (one out of Hungary, Russia, Italy, Greece and Netherlands won't qualify) Volleyball W 40% (Turkey and Poland are the favourites at the OQT) Basket 3x3 M 20% (two chances left) Basket 3x3 W 20% (two chances left) Waterpolo M 10% (simply not good enough) Volleyball M 5% (they were close at OQT 1 against the US, but almost impossible to qualify through OQT 2) Baseball M 0%; quite surprising they didn't qualify Softball W 0%; quite surprising they didn't qualify After all 4 or 5 teams in Tokio shoud be fine for The Netherlands, considering the fact that all qualified teams are medal contenders.
  24. What a miracle! The Dutch team really deserved this after all second, third and fourth places of the last year. Still shaking, what an end!!! I feel sorry for Spain, they played an unbelievable tournament. Cabral is really a great player. But Estavana Polman MVP of the tournament! Next year Olympics. Netherlands and Spain not in the same poule, like Norway and Russia.
