Even in team event, we lost to much better teams. Though Saina and Rankireddy/Shetty lost their matches, it was not a poor show but instead very creditable performance against players in form. Regarding Srikanth's loss in team event, Ginting Anthony is not a pushover. He stretched in-form Momota to three games in Semis and was neck and neck with World no.2 Shi in the final before injury forced him to retire. Srikanth's loss today and Sindhu's scare yesterday are demoralising but we need to be more objective in evaluating the performance.

Congratulations @MHSN on the historic win in Kabbadi. Indian Kabbadi players have been complacent for quite some time and the professional league made them overnight superstars which increased their complacency. On the other hand, Iranian and Korean players have been working hard for this for quite some time and they deserve it. Also, it is good for the overall health of the sport.

Not sure. BTW the Indian, Lakshya who won Silver in Trap is also young, 19 years. Also, we have two more young shooters Anish (15 years) in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol and Manu (16 years) in 10m Air Pistol to come. Manu has already broken Games record in 25m Pistol.

Indian archery is on a fast decline. Till 2-3 years back, we were close to the top, Women's team had defeated even the mighty Koreans multiple times in WCs but then suddenly Also, coming into the game, our best hope for medal in Archery was compound events only. Our recurve team has never performed well at Olympics/Asian Games.

What an amazing final of 25m Pistol. India's Rahi scored 2 in the final series while the Thai shooter shot a zero resulting in a shoot-off for the gold. Both scored 4 in the first series in shoot-off and Rahi won gold 3-2 in the second series.

Satish and Ajay Singh will participate in 77kg (23 August), Vikas in 94kg (25 August) and Rakhi in 63kg (24 August)

Excellent performance by our shooters till now. In individual events, out of 12 shooters, 9 qualified for final and another missed out in shoot-off. Remaining 2 finished creditable 11th and 14th. 9 finalists have won 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze. Out of 4 remaining finalists, 2 finished 4th, 1 finished 5th and last one finished 6th.
