  1. Till date I have never received the voting slip from Election Commission ever. Every time, I get voting slip from the parties only. Though I don't use even that and simply go with my Voter ID card. To vote in India, you need to ensure that your name is their in the voting list which is publicly available. Each voter can only vote in his designated polling station (nearest to his residential address). You just need a proper government ID to vote once your name is there in the voting list. In India, we use a special ink on nail to indicate who has voted to prevent a person voting multiple times. I am wondering what mechanism is used in other countries to tackle this?

  4. Men's Trap qualified for final: * *not eligible for quota
  5. World Number 1 Tai Tzu Ying has decided to retire after 2020 Olympics.
  6. To be fair to BWF, I don't think there are many Sports bodies with the guts to disqualify a bunch of top teams (specially Chinese) like they did in 2012. Also, it is very hard to prove fixing. I am assuming the fixing is not related to betting but about which team needs more points and matches at present. In such a case, there is no money trail to follow. Plus, the losing team can always feign an injury and say we were playing way below par so as not to risk increasing the problem. In London Olympics, this defence couldn't be used because the losing teams qualified to semi-finals and hence feigning injury was not practical. I share your frustration at this being disrespectful and cheating. But I just don't see how it can be punished.
  7. Maybe Sindo changed something, maybe a new advertising network.
  8. Sorry for the delay. I had some urgent work yesterday, so I couldn't vote. If nobody has an issue with an extension of a day, I can send my votes by tonight.
  9. Facing the same issue. I think there is a ad there which has been blocked.
  10. General elections are taking place in India as well. From sporting point of view, one constituency stands out: Jaipur Rural, where Olympian Krishna Poonia (6th in Women's Discus Throw at London Olympics) is the opposition candidate against sitting MP and current Sports Minister, Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (Silver Medal in Men's Double Trap in Athens Olympics).
  11. Shooting: Delhi WC is already done. We should have 2-3 in each of Men's Rifle/Pistol and Women's Rifle/Pistol. In Shotgun, I think it is 1-3 in Men and 0-1 in Women. So, total should be around 12-13. Wrestling: Qualifying 5/6 in both Men's FS and Women's FS would be really hard. We are not that good in heavier classes. Also, 2 in GR would be dream come true. Reallistically, we should have 8-9 wrestlers. Hockey: both teams should qualify Archery: I am expecting atleast one team to miss the bus. Badminton: Agree.

  13. Just to clarify, I don't think you can swap the mixed team quota. You can swap a quota place only for another quota in the same gender. So, you can swap either Zuzana's quota (she can still participate with help of Mixed team quota) for a quota in Women's Air Pistol or Rifle or Erik's quota for a quota in Men's Air Pistol or Rifle.
  14. It would be interesting to see how Vinesh performs in her new weight class and how Deepak adjusts to the senior level.
  15. Bangladesh Cricket team was about to enter the mosque at the time of shooting but were lucky enough to escape the terrorist.
  16. Hima, Neeraj and 20km men race walkers should get qualification standards easily. Tintu, Jinson, Dharun and Lalita also have chances of meeting the standard. Rest would have to qualify by rankings.
  17. What a massive win for Prajnesh. Defeating a top 20 player and moving into Rd3 of ATP 1000 tournament
  18. Can you please tell me what was marxist/leninist in my statement?
