    They need some PR people, because I was thoroughly entertained watching it the other night as I said. I thought it was like high jump where weights keep going up and the competitors lift it to move on. But no, they only get the three lifts and it's so strategic and suspenseful. Really cool.

    Too much doping, I guess. But also not one of the sexy events, even if it's truly Faster Higher Stronger. It's also an event that has athletes from areas that aren't as represented at the Olympics, particularly Central and SE Asia.

    Really looking forward to tuning in to see Santavy in an hour. I watched weightlifting the other night for the first time to see Charron win gold and I found the whole thing very captivating. Not at all what I expected. Full of drama and strategy and emotions. Super entertaining.

    Shocking ending for Ware. Even with the miss on round 4, she just needed to land on her head in round 5 to make the final. On the flip side, as James said, Abel looked great, only 5 pts behind the 2nd Chinese diver. Top 3 looked much better than everyone else.

    Kind of weird that Rio was a surprise performance by Canada's swim team while this time we expected medals and they could end up with less, or at best the same. But really it was mostly Oleksiak in 2016 while this time it's more spread out. Just wish the mens side would develop more.

    Hayden misses 50 final by .04. Was hoping he'd be there just to give all us old guys hope.

    Not unheard of, but losing so badly to them and then to France to miss the quarterfinals is unacceptable. They're basically ranked 3rd.

    Seeing the swimmer from Palau gives me hope to keep trying for the Olympics!

    I'd say the other 4th that hurt was 10m synchro diving. They scored better than the Italians on every dive but one and were off the podium by half a point.

    So close for Rosie. Obviously nothing against any of the athletes, but just as a Canadian sports fan I can't take any more of these 4ths.
