  1. I think if he went later and had that target, he could have ended up on the podium. Luck of the draw.
  2. Weidenmann and Maltais are now 2-3 in the distance WC standings.
  3. And 4th for Maltais!
  4. Silver for Weidemann in the 3000!
  5. It's a very scenic drive! What else are you going to do between games?
  6. The 4th fastest in history. She also holds the 2nd and 3rd...and 5th...and 11th and 12th...and 18th... Interestingly, this is only the 2nd 2:02:x in history, while there are also only two 2:01:x. In other words, no one else has even gotten close to that WR. Also interesting, and not at all suspicious, is that the WR holder Liu's second best time is more than 2 seconds slower.
  7. Yeah, there's a reason the US got a ridiculously easy group in the draw yesterday. Expect that team to go far this summer and they'll be forced to say it's because of Trump. Maybe they'll make another new award just for him again.
  8. I mean, story of Canadian athletes across the board. Reason why we lead in 4ths and 5ths every single Olympics.
  9. I don't want to get mean, but where the hell was he on that transition? Disappeared and almost got passed by teams that were way behind.
  10. So, I see two USA teams in the B final. Will there be another USA team in the A final along with Canada? Edit: OK, I see that it's USA2 and USA3, and Canada2 so I assume USA1 and Canada1 are in the A final.
  11. With 48 teams, it's much more diluted now. So when you look at some of the groups, it looks easy for several teams. Group G: Belgium, Egypt, Iran, New Zealand. Group E, Germany, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, Curacao.
  12. Canada is the only one who got two European teams. USA got the weakest team in Pot 2, Mexico got the weakest team in Pot 3. All three got UEFA picks, the strongest possibility for Mexico is Denmark (ranked 21), the strongest for the USA is Turkey (25), while the strongest for Canada is Italy (12). So, if we add up current FIFA ranking of the three hosts' oppositions (including their strongest possible placeholders): USA = 88 Mexico = 104 Canada = 80 USA's group is really up in the air, tbh. Any of the 4 could move on. Mexico should move on with SK and, if they qualify, Denmark fighting for second. But could be any of the three. Canada got lucky with Qatar, not denying that, but it'll be tough against Switzerland and obviously Italy if they move on. We might have a shot against any of the others, though.
  13. 6th for Lemarch in the 1000m, only .67 off the podium. Definitely in the conversation for an outside shot for a medal at the Olympics.
  14. After all the sucking up to Trump, making an award for him, and giving him the stage for 10 minutes, I AM SHOCKED! I would think foul play was afoot if not for FIFA's stellar reputation of being adverse to corruption.
  15. Not terrible, but that last pick was the worst possible option. Could have had Cape Verde. Thanks, Wayne.
  16. Well, now I get to watch the Euro playoff and root against Italy. Sorry, Italy. Nothing personal.
  17. As predicted, USA gets a hilariously easy group.
  18. MaKadonia. Oy. Well. We just got fucked.
  19. So, from Pot 4, Canada's group (B) can only get Cape Verde, Ghana, New Zealand, or one of the EUR teams (no, thank you), or one of the placeholders.
