When she was on she was on. This is going to be interesting tomorrow.

And fantastic for the Team Pursuit, they didn't look on until today's race. I think they knew all along they were probably in it for the bronze, but it was surprise for all of us.

Yeah, GB performed much better here than they have recently (like, the last 4 years) and the Americans have been very good this year, too.  So they probably saved themselves for this race.  They also got lucky with the Aussies sucking in the first round and giving the Kiwis the place in the bronze race.  Well, idk if 'lucky' is the right word since the Aussies didn't look good here at all.

  2. Well, the good news for diving is that Abel wasn't as good as she can be today and still finished 3rd by a large margin.  If she's clean tomorrow a medal will be attainable, maybe gold if the Chinese screw up.  Also, Ware makes the final as well.

They're both amazing athletes but I don't really like either of them :d

I don't know either of them personally, of course, but to me at least Bolt seems to have fun out there and is talkative with fans, volunteers and other competitors.  Phelps seems a little...in his own world...above everyone else.  While De Grasse was doing an interview after a race one time, Bolt went over and congratulated him and said he was the future of the sport.  I've never seen Phelps even interact with anyone else (besides teammates).  I'd rather watch a guy out there having fun and soaking it up than someone so 'above it all', personally.

Ennis is too solid for Brianne to catch her, Thiam is a poor 800m runner but her Javelin will keep her out of range, she's fighting with KJT who has a poor JT, Jones is also ahead but has both a poor JT and 800m

Yeah, pretty much.  If Brianne can finish ahead of KJT and Jones in javelin she'll be in a good position for bronze because her 800m is very strong and you can get a lot of points there.  Thiam and Ennis-Hill would both basically have to not get a mark in javelin for her to get the gold.  Another worry is Schafer in 6th, just behind Brianne.  But her 800m is much weaker.

Our Women's Team Pursuit expectedly loses to GB who set another WR, we battle NZ for bronze

They looked pretty good in their race (especially compared to yesterday).  With the Aussies out, Canada is the favourite for bronze.  Hope they perform this afternoon.  :fingers:

    Only 1 medal

I hope rowing canada takes action as this is unacceptable

Totally unacceptable.  Women's 8s used to be a given medal.  Worst performance since 1988.  Terrible.

And now to watch men's 8s where Canada doesn't have a team for the first time I can remember.  Much more important to have two terrible 4 man boats instead.

The biggest thing I took from this is that COC/athletes have to pay for the ticket to Rio.  I always thought since Air Canada is a sponsor the ticket was free.  I mean come on.

Having done many, many 12 (13...14...two back to back 13s on my way from Korea to Brazil...) hour flights in my life, I totally understand this situation, though.  I'm a big guy, my shoulders spread way past the seat on both sides.  When I'm in the middle I have to sit cross-armed the whole way and it hurts for days afterwards.  And the legs, don't even get me started on that.  I also have a nagging lower back issue from an injury years ago and basically need to lie down for 24hours after those flights.

Anyway, I like Netty, I think she's a serious medal contender that isn't mentioned much.  I hope she recovers well.

Theisen-Eaton now 199 points outside the gold, 109 points outside the podium after 3 events

She's actually slightly ahead of where she was at the Athletics Championships last year right now (points wise).  But much further behind the leader, and even the podium.
