  1. Really surprised to see Germany winning 3 medals, more than at the previous 4 olympics combined. I fear that this means that they will get more funding.
  2. I think you will be proven wrong tonight (assuming that women’s 800 m/pole vault is tonight). There will also be chances in women’s 1500 m, women’s heptathlon, women’s relays, men’s 4x100 m relay and maybe some other events too. I think GB will win at least 3 medals.
  3. Didn’t the athletes who finished behind him also deserve it? And if not, how can you judge whether they deserved it or not?
  4. No, impossible by definition. No hurdles/steeplechase race can ever qualify (considering that mostly people who aren’t good enough to medal in the flat races compete in those disciplines).
  5. No (considering that Benjamin was that close).
  6. Shooting was easily the most diappointing sport for Germany in Tokyo. They should have won 1-2 medals. Hopefully they will improve until Paris.
  7. No, i wouldn't and obvious trying to argue like that is just plain stupid. How about you stick to the things that were actually said when you try to lead a discussion? I was obviously 100 % right in the point i made (not wanting an olympic final to be decided by injuries), disagreeing is just plain stupid.
  8. Why not, she probably doesn't even feel the 5000 m final. She probably also could have won the 800 m while she is at it.
  9. Easily destroying the best in the world after already winning her 1500 heat this morning after a crash. Hassan deserves the gold for most obvious doper. Sometimes i wonder if athletes like her actually try to make their doping so obvious that even officials can't ignore it anymore.
  10. 32 year old Bonevacia running sub 45 for the first time in 6 years, nothing to see here (espcially in combination with the improvements of the other dutch 400 m runners).
  11. Yes, "technique" ... is what made her improve by 3 m during the pandemic.
  12. Jung has only himself to blame, very disappointing performance by him (dressage excluded). Auffarth completely fucked the team, but Jung still should have won individual gold.
  13. Already wanted to write that it is quite funny that she wins gold after all the "hate" she got from you (basically calling her a security risk for the team). Too bad that Blum couldn't be here, otherwise german women could have won all individual golds.
  14. 1) His previous results couldn't really be taken serious, they were all at joke events where proper measurement was more than doubtful. 2) I said that this is sad because his competitors got injured, i don't want an olympic final to be decided like that. 3) I have absolutely no problem with him winning a medal, he was one of the top 3 athletes in recent years and i predicted a medal for him. I still wanted someone to win who doesn't have such an ugly style.
  15. If this WR will stand, then I would be really interested to know how Germany improved that much. Obviously the most likely explanation is doping, but I wonder how Germany could have such a superior doping program in cycling while being shit in swimming/athletics/rowing.
  16. Not the worst, but completely ridiculous to allow the athletes to decide.
  17. They will get it back anyways (or the US will break it) so it wouldn’t make sense to cry. No one seriously expected that the world record wouldn’t be broken here.
  18. Confusing times by New Zealand and Australia. They are the countries least hit by COVID and it showed in other sports (rowing, swimming). If anything they should be faster than expected. Maybe they saved their best for later on.
  19. I guess this is also the explanation for the poor performances in doping sports like athletics, swimming and rowing? Trust me, if Germany wanted to win tons of medals in those events, they easily could. The know-how is still there, but it is mainly used by other countries (for example GB in rowing).
  20. Disappointing time for both German teams so far. Germany should be at least 10 seconds faster than France in team pursuit if they want to medal. In women’s team sprint I expected an easy gold, but China and Russia seem to be among the few countries that profited from the pandemic.
  21. Very sad result in men’s long jump. 1) Tentoglou has an ugly style 2) His main competitors were injured
  22. They seem to be much stronger than usual, not really surprising sadly.
