  1. Yeah i said that Moldova lost the medal and that it goes to Russia, but lets wait to reallocate the medal ... Ok, apparently you are right about Anoshkin, but he still came out of nowhere and obviously it was right to be suspicious about him. A 19 year old coming out of nowhere might be believable, but not if a 29 year old comes out of nowhere.
  2. What a disgusting performance by the french guy, you cant show that on TV! Dunfee! He motivated Diniz to walk on! I was sure that Diniz would win gold, but what the hell was he thinking? I really dont get it ... its like Mo Farah trying to run a world record from the front in an olympic final, completely brainless ...
  3. I know that Gatlin didnt make the final ... but why? It was a very low level final, the brits (Gemili and Hughes), Jobodawana and Dwyer all got worse since last year, Francis was injured and Van Niekerk didnt want to win a second medal (where the hell was South Africa in the 4 x 100 m relay?).
  4. You mean the guy from Ukraine, who now competes for Moldova? Yeah ... totally unexpected ... i already mentioned it in the "doping cases and bans" thread yesterday. So his bronze medal will go to Shtokalov from Russia ... I cant say that i am surprised about Anoshkin, he is just 19 years old and came out of nowhere (just like Valz), but i thought it would take longer to catch him.
  5. What a low level final, where were Gatlin, Merritt, Jobodawana or the guy from Antigua? I think Van Niekerk easily could have won a silver medal here. What is going on with french athletics? Before the start of the competition, 3 medals (mens pole vault, mens 50 km race walking, mens 110 m hurdles) would have been an amazing result for them, now they won medals in womens discus throw, mens 200 m and mens decathlon out of nowhere.
  6. If you can keep your ridiculous conversion rate of penalty corners, then you will probably win all olympic golds in the next 100 years, against Germany and Belgium this was the main reason why you won.
  7. Haha, the croatian no-name destroys her PB and wins the gold, there we have Perkovic 2.0, i hope that she will be caught soon.
  8. Yeah, sadly Markus Weise (who won 3 olympic golds in a row, 2004 with our womens team and 2008/2012 with our mens team) started to work for our football federation at the end of last year, you could see that it was a huge blow for our mens team, but at least they still won the bronze medal. Now our mens team has a new coach who is only 35 years old and you could see that the olympics were completely new for him ... Our team is still pretty young (more than half of the players are 25 or younger and 5 of them were born in 1994 or later), so i am optimistic for 2020. I think the future on the mens side should belong to Belgium and Germany.
  9. What a surprising final on the mens side and what a disaster for Belgium!
  10. Congrats to the oldest team of the tournament, what a miracle! It was a once in a lifetime chance for them and they used it.
  11. Oh nooo ... the better looking team lost! USA was very unlucky to lose one of their best players due to injury during the first set.
  12. What about Tarnovschi (canoeing sprint)? All those cheaters from eastern europe are making me really angry, AT LEAST TRY TO NOT GET CAUGHT!
  13. Is Bourrada the cheater? I hope he wont win a medal.
  14. So if the american girls will leave their lane in the rerun, then they also will be disqualified? Its also great that the american girls exactly know that they dont have to risk anything, because 42.70 will be enough to make the final ...
  15. Does Brethauer have a chance to make the semifinal? This would already be a great result for him and if he would make the final, then i would probably cry ...
  16. Yes, i forgot about Marin, she should win the gold. Muguruza/Nadal also might have been the favorites, after Federer/Hingis had to whitdraw.
  17. Congrats to GB, they have a great diversity, despite what many people say. They are inexistant in most team sports, but they know which sports should be funded if they want to win as many medals as possible. Germany should do the same, dropping sports like water polo, badminton, modern pentathlon, triathlon, rhythmic gymnastics, synchronised swimming, weightlifting or trampoline.
  18. Spain has crazy good results in Rio. Was there any event where Spain was favorite (except for womens 200 m fly)? Now they have already 5 gold medals (out of only 8 medals in total). I guess they are in the top 3 of most overperforming countries.
  19. The rules are very weird indeed. It says 3 x top 2 + 2 x 3rd BT, so for some reason its not top 2 in each semifinal + 2 fastest, but top 2 in each semifinal + the two fastest 3rd place finishers.
  20. It would be nice to have more (american) members, but why exactly are american users more important than users from any other country? If you think that Totallympics needs more american users, then why dont you try to spread news about Totallympics among american people?
  21. Yesterday Ludger Beerbaum compete for the last time (at least in the national team) ... Goodbye legend, he won 4 gold medals and one bronze at the olympics.
  22. "That's it, I don't need to watch the next 15 days this is all I wanted." Thats what you said after Pareto won the gold medal ... so when did your account got hacked? Back then or just now? I understand how you feel, but: In my opinion you had almost perfect olympics. Many people didnt expect you to win a single gold and now you already have two and could very well win a third today, in addition to that Del Potro won a silver medal completely out of nowhere.
  23. Which medal table (for London 2012) were you looking at? On Wikipedia it says that the US won 103 medals 4 years ago. Now you have 93 medals already and you will win at least 20 more medals (2 x basketball, 2 x boxing, 0-2 x BMX, 0-1 x diving, 0-1 x equestrian, 0-1 x golf, 0-1 x sailing, 0-1 x taekwondo, 0-2 x triathlon, 0-2 x volleyball, 1 x water polo, 0-4 x wrestling, 0-12 x athletics), so this will easily be your best result ever (1904 and 1984 excluded of course). By the way: You won 110 medals in Beijing, not in London. You also should think about the following thing: Even if you wouldve won less medals than 4 years ago, you still could have overperformed. In my opinion your team is weaker than 4 years ago (just because you won more medals than 4 years ago, it doesnt mean that your team got better), you might want to look at the results of the swimming/athletics world championships from last year if you dont agree. I think you clearly had an advantage this time, because all other big nations had to adapt to a different time zone and NBC was able to dictate the start times for swimming/athletics finals, so most athletes had a "double jetlag".
  24. The Netherlands have a got chance to make the final in womens volleyball! No one expected that, especially considering that they shouldnt have qualified in the first place. Russia and Brazil were much weaker than expected. We have the same situation as in mens handball: The second semifinal (USA vs. Serbia) should have been the final.
  25. Which case are you referring to? By the way: You might want to read what i said after Germany won mens quadruple sculls ... i am not only doubting athletes of other nations ... (i said pretty much the same about Roleder when she won silver at the world championships last year).
