  1. It's Chengdu2023 now.
  2. https://www.ocasia.org/news/2987-oca-press-release-on-hangzhou-asian-games-2022-and-shantou-asian-youth-games-2021.html Shantou China Asian Youth Games 2021 has been cancelled and next is Tashkent Uzbekistan Asian Youth Games 2025
  3. Chinese head coach Zhang Jun first time revealed that Shi Yuqi was under one-year internal suspension because of his quitting on opponent's match point during Thomas Cup last year and subsequent quarrel with fans on internet. Shi Yuqi will be absent from most tournaments of this year including Thomas Cup and World Championships. The most optimistic scenario is that he will be back at November.
  4. It's not official yet but according to volunteers' social media, Summer Universiade 2021 would be postponed again (for sure) and replace Russia Universiade 2023 (likely).
  5. It's official now. The Asian Olympic Council announced on the 6th that the 19th Asian Games, originally scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 10 to 25, 2022, would be postponed.
  6. Chinese trials for WCH and Asian Games were reportedly cancelled after an unspecified date suspension due to Shanghai Covid lockdown. What I currently learnt is that federation will directly select some swimmers who already met the FINA standards to form the national team. TBH I am not sure if China will send the team to WCH and the priority goes to Asian Games at home.
  7. What real "AFP" reported with a traceable link @MHSN
  8. I still think the postponement is very unlikely. No major Chinese media or official report the possible postponement though I also see the news from some tabloid or self media. I hope the committee clarify it as soon as possible.
  9. Call me predictor. "It's Genocidal attacks"
  10. Totally understandable and to prevent escalation of the rivalry especially during the uncertainty period of war, I see Chinese authority soften its stance (maybe foreigner not easy to find that)to stabilize the economy. Nothing is more important than money in China. If Chinese economy collapse, the government may change in one day.
  11. Things happened when you refused to be faithful watchdog and next time it would be genocide.
  12. These are no such policy. Each sport makes its own decision whether attending oversea tournaments depending on the significance. Fencing and Badminton are currently aboard attending the tournaments series for world ranking. And it also means they will stay overseas for a long time to avoid the quarantine back home. So generally a sport team will go overseas only facing a long tournaments season or a significant event. TBH if just Asian Championship alone I don’t think it significant enough so let’s see.
  13. According to the initial plan, China will attend the Asian Championships. It's also functioned as the first stage of trials for Asian Games and WCH. So if nothing unexpected happened I think they will attend as scheduled but no news reported about them lately.
  14. To be honest, USA routinely sells weapons to Taiwan and send small groups of military to train Taiwanese soldiers, but China will just react with routinely oral protesting. Even USA send warships to transit Taiwan Straight or send some governmental personnels to visit Taiwan every now and then, China will also just protest orally. China is fined by these typical Democrats' little tricks and posturing. It will hurt no one's core interests and made Democrats satisfied with its moral image and won reputation it wanted. If USA and China could maintain this tactic interaction, then Asia could stay peace. What really hurt and anger China is the economic and technology sanctioned posed by Trump. These kind of sanction or ban need no legitimate reasons and just claiming to protect the interests of USA. But apparently Biden doesn't like this rude way, he needs legitimacy and rule-based order to maintain the status of moral supremacy leader and China is enjoying to deal with this kind of rival and enjoy the wast of time of bureaucracy.
  15. I think it's what the document mean, and not only limited to 4 registration but also included no-show or failed weigh-in, so you never know until the game begins.
  16. The fencing team qualification system full of randomness and chaos remain unchanged. I still remember Hong Kong received the Women's Epee team quota with absence just because China and Korea both in top4. I don't like this kind of meaningless bonding.
  17. To protect the rights of Belarusian traitors, all Belarusian share the universal ban now.
  18. it should be 2023. I also find it confusing and I think the upper part which writes 2023 September should be right.
  19. That’s true. When I mix politics and sports, from my point of view, I stand for justice and claiming it’s not politics. So maybe no one is playing the game or everyone is playing it.
  20. Haha. It exactly shows how different people have different angles and views towards the same thing. Chinese fans are furious about our talent star lost to a 33 year-old player who also play mixed double paired with his 63 year-old mother. And no one in China will leverage it to the Ukraine conflict or Muslim-Israel battle. But it also somehow explains to me why the West always interfere sports with politics which is annoying for me but total justice for them.
  21. I think it partially because some countries continuously quit tournaments due to Covid (especially East Asian)so IOC wants to stop this trend and hope every nation begins to attend all kinds of tournaments as usual in the new cycle.
  22. Qualification documents begin to release: https://olympics.com/ioc/documents/olympic-games/paris-2024-olympic-games
  23. May I know how do Hungarian think about the China-built Belgrade-Budapest railway? Is it still under construction inside the Hungary part?
  24. For me it's more like USA exaggerated the threat of monthly routine missile launch to smoothly drag newly-elected South Korea government into its arms and justify the relaunch of THAAD defense system in South Korea.
