  1. I think there is serious suspicion with Aishwarya Mishra with respect to doping. This is totally unacceptable of not revealing one's whereabouts. https://www.thehindu.com/sport/athletics/where-is-aishwarya-mishra/article65401709.ece

  5. Has anyone here applied for tickets for the World Cup or is intending to go to Qatar during that time. Has anyone researched the accommodation room prices
  6. I am little confused about the badminton team selected for Commonwealth Games. Is Ashwini Ponnappa only playing in Mixed Doubles. Are we making any temporary doubles pair like Kidambi-Sumeeth or Sindhu-Ashwini
  7. Is Shruti Mishra an able partner for Tanisha Crasto. They have done well to reach the top four in WD.
  8. All good things must come to an end. The badminton revolution in India started from Saina Nehwal and she has a legacy. Hope she retires gracefully and her legacy remains intact
  9. Does anyone have news on Harmilian Bains, Muhammad Anas, Kamalpreet Kaur's reason for non-participation in domestic season. Also why is emerging 400m runner Priya Mohan ran in 200m in Federation Cup
  10. @Prashanth @Fly_like_a_don @nitinsanker What are your opinions on India's next generation of shuttlers especially on the following players Men's Singles - Kiran George, Meiraba Luwang Maisnam Women's Singles - Aakarshi Kashyap, Malvika Bansod, Aditi Bhatt, Samiya Farooqui Men's Doubles - Ishaan Bhatnagar + Sai Prateek Women's Doubles - Ashwini Bhatt + Shikha Gautam Also has Pranaav Chopra retired?

  13. What is the probability of them qualifying for 2024 Olympics
  14. I don't think rowing is a priority for IOA, as we are going win a quota anyway. Also the boat is expensive and the main training centers are at Army locations.
  15. The World Championships start from next week which is more important. Perhaps shouldn't gauge form from this tournament, to prepare for the Worlds evident from the number of retirements. True that Sindhu is not technical and graceful
  16. Manika Batra and Sutirtha Mukherjee could be suspended by ITTF https://www.news18.com/news/sports/international-table-tennis-bodys-integrity-unit-looking-into-manika-batras-allegation-against-coach-soumyadeep-roy-4372613.html
  17. Its not the nationals but BWF approved India International Challenge tournament held in Bangalore. Women's singles saw few upsets and Uber Cup squad players and other hopefuls like Aakarshi Kashyap, Mugdha Agrey, Samiya Farooqui lost to lower ranked opponents. Even Men's Singles had few upsets like top seeds Subhankar Dey, Kiran George and Chirag Sen losing early in the tournament Women's Doubles final will be interesting as its between Uber Cup squad players - Treesa/Gayatri vs Panda/Crasto https://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/tournament/fe0cd556-c923-4747-b979-4402490ef3d7
  18. Very impressed by the next generation of young female shuttlers with s convincing win over Scotland yesterday. There was dearth of young female singles and doubles players for a long who could challenge and take the mantle from Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu and Ashwini Ponnappa. But the new crop of Malvika Bansod, Aditi Bhatt and Rutuparna-Tanisha look promising. Rutuparna-Tanisha even defeated the 49th rank Scottish pair. It was also a good debut for 16 year old Tasnim Mir. Now they shall play the fancied Thailand team, lets see how it goes.
  19. Can anyone analyze medal winning chances of each of our 54 member strong Paralympic contingent
  20. There was a simultaneous tournament to be played in Toronto against Pakistan which was the Sahara Cup, a 5 ODI series. BCCI actually held an intra-team match to decide which players would go where. The losers would play in CWG while the winners would go to Canada. Unfortunately, India failed miserably in both; lost 4-1 in Toronto and couldn't qualify for the quarters finishing behind Antigua and Barbuda in the group
  21. Indian audience seems to be targeted by the IOC. The Olympic website was providing India specific news and updates and also had a language option of Hindi. Even in social media like Youtube and Twitter, a lot of India specific and Hindi language content was produced. Coming to cricket, I think ICC also believes 2032 is more realistic but want to make the groundwork by then. Australia as a host makes more sense with iconic stadiums like MCG, SCG, Adelaide Oval and Gabba
  22. Thats because of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s intervention. Under Olympic rules, all national sports federation need to report to the respective country's Olympic association. But BCCI is autonomous and doesn't come under Indian Olympic Association. Most of the cricket revenue comes from India and hence they control International Cricket Council (ICC) as well.
  23. The first week was poor due to Shooting and Boxing results but the final days has truly brought joy. This is simply historic. We have a very young squad and the next generation is top notch too. Now let's cheer for the Paralympics
