Even if Women don't get the team quota, getting two singles quotas won't be a cakewalk. One Singles quota is confirmed from South Asian Region as I think one quota will be given to each of the 5 regions in Asian single qualifiers, then the sixth quota will be a fight among the rest; most likely would be between North Korea, Thailand and India. The next quotas would come at a qualification tournament and World Rankings. I estimated it will be distributed till Rank 101 whereas the next ranked Indian after Manika is Ayhika Mukherjee who is ranked 121.

Women's team winning is certainly unprecedented. Even Archana was trailing 1-2 game and then 4-7 points in final deciding game. She also saved a match point at 10-11 to win 13-11. But next assignment is Romania who are 5th seeded. Fingers crossed!!

Was going through Sania Mirza's chances through protected ranking and have several queries 1) As required for protected rankings, the player must send a written petition to ITF within 6 months of injury. Did Sania follow this? 2) Protected ranked players can't be seeded. So can Sania still qualify and select a doubles partner of her choice as her protected ranking was 9th? 3) Entry protected is available for 12 singles or doubles tournaments for players who have been not playing for 12 months or more. Does this include the Olympics as its not an ATP/WTA event? Very excited for 2020 and Tokyo Olympics. Expecting double-digit medal tally with few golds and some historic qualifications like Fencing, Equestrian, Table Tennis Team.
