  1. We do have online delivery of essential items in Bangalore, India but its delayed. We had ordered on Sunday but its scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. Normally lead time of online delivery of groceries in Tier I cities is not more than a day
  2. There are still some stupid people https://www.indiatoday.in/movies/bollywood/story/baby-doll-singer-kanika-kapoor-tests-coronavirus-positive-she-hid-travel-history-threw-party-at-5-star-1657811-2020-03-20
  3. Even if the numbers are under-reported its still quite low given the population size and urban population density. Here, the pandemic is still at an early stage and we intend to keep the curve flat. Its not feasible to test everyone so only those who arrived from abroad or show symptoms are tested. We are trying to beat the pandemic by lockdown and most institutions like schools, colleges, banks and offices are closed. Our PM requested everyone to follow a virtual curfew on Sunday. The roads of Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India and has the worst traffic in the world, has sparse traffic nowadays and its surreal to see so few cars on the road
  4. I too agree on the overall number but still would nitpick on few numbers. For example, do you really think we can qualify a team in Women's Archery. I really don't trust Deepika Kumari and co. Also we will qualify 4 golfers. 7 players in Badminton is a long shot now unless the qualifying period is extended which it should as many events in April is suspended. Biggest regret so far definitely is Table Tennis team qualification, hope we clinch it in 2024. Can you elaborate who do you see qualifying in Taekwondo and Canoeing in 2024
  5. I would propose a multi-sport of sports which are indigenous and popular to a country or region and have potential to have mass popularity like Kabaddi from Indian subcontinent, Australian rules football, hurling, sepaktakraw etc. Since most of them are team sports, the quotas can be handed as follows - four best teams and one each from Asia/Oceania, Africa, Europe and Americas; so each sport shall feature 8 NOCs. NOCs may not be ranked by medal tally but by cumulative points earned in sport. The points earned shall be earned by combination of final standing and a weightage factor decided by whether the sport is indigenous in that region. For example, in hurling Ireland shall have a lower weightage factor then, lets say Kenya. Probable List of sports American football Basque pelota Hurling Kabaddi Sepaktakraw Wushu Sambo Netball Lawn bowls Australian rules football
  6. Manish Kaushik qualifies for Olympics, giving Harry Garside a bloody eye
  7. Hope we qualify more than in 2012 when 7 men and Mary Kom had qualified
  8. Olympic channel isn't working in my device at all
  9. Ashish Kumar progresses to Quarterfinals of Middleweight category, one win away from qualification. 5 wins out of 5 bouts for Indian boxers so far
  10. https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/live/ Olympic Channel, also live blog also available in the website
  11. 4 Indians in top 100 of Men's Singles as Anthony Amalraj jumps 7 ranks to 98. Sutirtha Mukherjee jumps 51 places and is second best Women's Singles player. She is 109th while Ayhika is 113th. How will TFFI select players to participate in qualification tournaments
  12. Gaurav Solanki wins and progresses to Round of 16 in Featherweight division
  13. When will the draw come out and what are the seedings lists
  14. I have seen Diksha Dagar in 55-57 range since time immemorial and I doubt she would drop out, so we should expect 2 female golfers qualifying. In men, Rashid Khan should qualify; but for qualifying for the second the real competition is Fabian Gomez (ranked 259) and Ricardo Santos (ranked 309). Check the re-allocation pdf for the last spot which will give a better understanding.
  15. Could you kindly add the Olympic Golf rankings as well https://www.igfgolf.org/olympic-games/tokyo-2020/tokyo-2020-qualification-system/tokyo-2020-olympic-golf-rankings/
  16. There will be separate shooting and archery events to be held in India and the results will be added to final medal tally https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/more-sports/india-to-host-commonwealth-shooting-archery-championships-medals-to-be-counted-for-birmingham-cwg/articleshow/74284094.cms
  17. Sania Mirza progresses to second round. Her protected ranking stays at 9 for 6 months
  18. Yes India won, Arjun-Dhruv won 21-18 22-20, Lakshya Sen won 21-19 21-18 and Kidambi-Shetty won 21-15 16-21 21-15 Even I had given up when Praneeth and Kidambi lost
  19. Any news whether Chinese and Pakistani wrestlers been given visas for Asian championships in India
  20. India beat Thailand 3-2 and progresses to semis of Badminton Asia Team championship and qualifies to Thomas Cup. Given the recent form of the singles players and Satwik's absence this win was unexpected, more so as Praneeth and Kidambi lost their matches. This win will give the singles players vital Olympic ranking points. Hope that 2 players qualify for Men's Singles
  21. Indian Men's team beat Kazakhstan 4-1 in Asia Team Badminton Championship, virtually qualified into quarterfinals. Hope they can beat Malaysia especially the Men's Singles contingent to get confidence
  22. Apparently AFI retweeted this, which says that AFI confirmed that the meet was a recognized event
  23. Apparently Nethra Kumanan won bronze medal in Laser Radial event in World Cup Series. Too bad it was Olympic qualification event for only North America zone. She is expected to win Olympic quota from Asia though as nations like Japan, China, Malaysia, Thailand have already qualified https://site-isaf.soticcloud.net/worldcup/miami_2020.php?rgtaid=21002&evntid=40311&view=fleetevent&includeref=regattaevents88953#results__21002
