  1. Could you kindly add the Olympic Golf rankings as well https://www.igfgolf.org/olympic-games/tokyo-2020/tokyo-2020-qualification-system/tokyo-2020-olympic-golf-rankings/
  2. There will be separate shooting and archery events to be held in India and the results will be added to final medal tally https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/more-sports/india-to-host-commonwealth-shooting-archery-championships-medals-to-be-counted-for-birmingham-cwg/articleshow/74284094.cms
  3. Sania Mirza progresses to second round. Her protected ranking stays at 9 for 6 months
  4. Yes India won, Arjun-Dhruv won 21-18 22-20, Lakshya Sen won 21-19 21-18 and Kidambi-Shetty won 21-15 16-21 21-15 Even I had given up when Praneeth and Kidambi lost
  5. Any news whether Chinese and Pakistani wrestlers been given visas for Asian championships in India
  6. India beat Thailand 3-2 and progresses to semis of Badminton Asia Team championship and qualifies to Thomas Cup. Given the recent form of the singles players and Satwik's absence this win was unexpected, more so as Praneeth and Kidambi lost their matches. This win will give the singles players vital Olympic ranking points. Hope that 2 players qualify for Men's Singles
  7. Indian Men's team beat Kazakhstan 4-1 in Asia Team Badminton Championship, virtually qualified into quarterfinals. Hope they can beat Malaysia especially the Men's Singles contingent to get confidence
  8. Apparently AFI retweeted this, which says that AFI confirmed that the meet was a recognized event
  9. Apparently Nethra Kumanan won bronze medal in Laser Radial event in World Cup Series. Too bad it was Olympic qualification event for only North America zone. She is expected to win Olympic quota from Asia though as nations like Japan, China, Malaysia, Thailand have already qualified https://site-isaf.soticcloud.net/worldcup/miami_2020.php?rgtaid=21002&evntid=40311&view=fleetevent&includeref=regattaevents88953#results__21002
  10. Difficult as teams like South Korea and Netherlands stand in the way
  11. If the Men's team do qualify, then it could also present a historic qualification for the other South Asian nations to achieve a Men's Singles quota. Earlier, the other NOCs didn't bother turning up in qualification from South Asia
  12. I saw it in Table Tennis qualification forum. This practice was followed for previous Olympics as well. In fact the ITTF calender shows a qualification tournament for Western Asia region to be held in Jordan in 23-26 Feb https://www.ittf.com/2020-event-calendar/
  13. Even if Women don't get the team quota, getting two singles quotas won't be a cakewalk. One Singles quota is confirmed from South Asian Region as I think one quota will be given to each of the 5 regions in Asian single qualifiers, then the sixth quota will be a fight among the rest; most likely would be between North Korea, Thailand and India. The next quotas would come at a qualification tournament and World Rankings. I estimated it will be distributed till Rank 101 whereas the next ranked Indian after Manika is Ayhika Mukherjee who is ranked 121.
  14. Women's team winning is certainly unprecedented. Even Archana was trailing 1-2 game and then 4-7 points in final deciding game. She also saved a match point at 10-11 to win 13-11. But next assignment is Romania who are 5th seeded. Fingers crossed!!
  15. Luxembourg is easy but both Slovenia and Iran are banana skins. If I remember correctly Noshad Alamian has defeated Achanta in the past and Alamian brothers are a decent doubles pair. But still fingers crossed for qualification For women, Sweden is a bit too tough and I see no hope here
  16. I had read the Bridge article already which had piqued my interest in Protected Ranking. However I hope that Sania plays well enough to be at par with top 10 and qualify on her own might
  17. Was going through Sania Mirza's chances through protected ranking and have several queries 1) As required for protected rankings, the player must send a written petition to ITF within 6 months of injury. Did Sania follow this? 2) Protected ranked players can't be seeded. So can Sania still qualify and select a doubles partner of her choice as her protected ranking was 9th? 3) Entry protected is available for 12 singles or doubles tournaments for players who have been not playing for 12 months or more. Does this include the Olympics as its not an ATP/WTA event? Basic information on Protected Rankings https://www.atptour.com/en/rankings/rankings-faq https://www.rolandgarros.com/en-us/article/roland-garros-2018-demystifying-protected-rankings
  18. She is playing with the same partner she won Hobart Open. However she is unseeded https://ausopen.com/draws#!womens-doubles
  19. Sania - Kichenok pair win 2-6, 7-6, 10-3 and progress to Quarterfinals of Hobart Open.
  20. Pakistan and Sri Lanka ranked higher in Baseball https://rankings.wbsc.org/list/baseball/men Pakistan and Bangladesh ranked higher in Volleyball http://www.fivb.com/en/volleyball/rankings/rankingseniormen But real question is how many of them can qualify overall versus us
  21. There is no entry of Japan in team qualification https://wtentries.ittf.link/index.php?option=com_fabrik&view=list&listid=36&Itemid=159&fab_plist_og___tournament_raw=76&fab_plist_og___gender_raw=M&resetfilters=1&fabrik_incsessionfilters=0 https://www.ittf.com/tournament/5171/2019/world-team-qualification-event/
  22. Although India is 9th but China, Japan, Germany and Brazil have already qualified Men's teams hence we shall be seeded 5th in teams qualification
  23. Very excited for 2020 and Tokyo Olympics. Expecting double-digit medal tally with few golds and some historic qualifications like Fencing, Equestrian, Table Tennis Team. In fact the first month January itself is big with events such as Table Tennis Team qualification, Fencing World Cups, Asian Volleyball qualification (not much hope really) and Sania Mirza's comeback with Hobart Open
  24. http://www.470.org/uploaded_files/Final_Results_2019_470M_Asian_Champ.pdf_1170_en.pdf
  25. How good are chances of an pair qualifying. I guess the best situation would be if and qualify in other World Tours then we can qualify in Asian qualification event
