  1. Petition for Dronacharya Award to Park Tae Sung, Graham Reid and Sjoerd Marijne
  2. Also our wrestling contingent starts competing from tomorrow with Sonam Malik first. The draw for 62kg is out and she will be facing
  3. If everyone's excitement has died down, how good is the Argentina team.
  4. It has been a fairytale journey. Skin has become red from pinching whether this a dream or not.
  5. First woman to be double-medalist and second after Sushil Kumar
  6. How did World No 3 and runners up in last World Cup finish fourth in their pool
  7. Whats everyone's predictions for todays key matches India vs Great Britain in men's hockey Pusarla Sindhu vs He Bingjiao in Bronze medal match I think we will win both
  8. PV Sindhu wins 21-13 22-20 !!!
  9. Women's team win an Olympic match for the first time since 1980
  10. Lovlina Borgohain enters semis and ensures a medal!!
  11. So Kento Momota and Ng ka Long lost today who were in same side of draw as Sai Praneeth. Surely a big missed opportunity to be a semi-finalist
  12. Was never hopeful of current lot of Men's Singles players anyway. All of them had a poor 2019-20 season. We should start planning for 2024. Hopefully the next generation of Lakshya Sen, Varun Kapur, S. Sankar can carry the mantle
  13. Yes correction on my part, Kidambi would have been seeded
  14. Eg Carolina Marin was injured but her seeded place didn't go to the next Spanish player Clara Azurmendi though but she qualified based on her own rankings. So if Praneeth wouldn't have gone to Tokyo then Kidambi would have taken his place but unseeded
  15. Saina was also injured in Rio
  16. No match of Deepika Kumari is complete without a 6 or a 7. Somehow she is in round of 16
  17. Koreans are beatable in individual competition. They have never been 1-2-3 in any Olympics as far as I know. Even in Rio, Kim Woo Jin set world record in ranking round but lost in round of 32. If they were as dominant as Chinese in table tennis, then I don't think maximum 3 archers would be allowed in individual rounds
  18. Just exploring an angle. Did the shooters face mental pressure with weight of expectations. We ardent Indian sport followers knew the likes of Bhaker, Valarivan, Chaudhary etc but now the average Indian knows about them. These same shooters performed well in 2019 World Cups but only faltered in Croatia World Cup.
  19. Don't know when the next medal is going to come from. Perhaps we can trust on Aishwary Tomar, Manu Bhaker and Rahi Sarnobat. Also Amit Panghal, Simranjit Kaur didn't even start yet. Men's Hockey quarterfinal match will be barometer for medal potential as all teams in Group B seem equally good. And lastly hoping the wrestlers are in good shape
  20. Lee Yang and Wang Chi Lin had beaten the minions. Satwik-Chirag would have beaten the British pair anyway
  21. I am not sure what is the perception of ranking rounds by Indian coaches, but surely experienced archers must know where is the problem. The problem is mental more than anything. Deepika Kumari has been saying for years she is not mentally strong. Even the PM Narendra Modi had asked the same question during the recent interaction
  22. Tomorrow shall be a big day in terms of medals. Mixed team of rifle and pistol will be in action, Lovlina Borgohain will start her campaign. And we have the pair of Satwik-Chirag to play against the British pair. Hopefully the minions do us a favour and beat the Taiwan pair, while the British pair have been eliminated and nothing to play for but lets hope Satwik-Chirag are focused
  23. The badminton seeds were decided by Olympic rankings and the Taiwan pair were ranked 7th. Since only 4 pairs were seeded, they were not seeded. But they had a very good 2021 when they won World Tour finals and the two Thailand Opens and their overall rank rose to 3.
  24. Out of curiosity, is Manika Batra the first Indian woman to win a match in the Olympics
